After a very good win in midweek to advance in the League Cup it was back to our “bread & butter” today with a tea-time match at home to fellow strugglers Charlton Athletic in the Premiership.

Shepherd is running this club down both on and off the field; he basically doesn’t know what he’s doing. The only thing that he seems worried about is what he can take from the club in terms of money and prestige; surely, both have now dried up.

The managers

Each of the 5 managers Freddy Shepherd has appointed thus far all have one thing in common; they were the exact opposite in style to their respective predecessors. Yes, the key to appointing a manager Toon styleee is to pinpoint the outgoing manager’s biggest flaw whether it be character wise or football management wise and pinpoint a manager who is quite good in those areas, or at least better than the outgoing man. If that fails check his birth certificate for the Geordie by birth stamp of approval.

Laurent Robert has been quoted saying he’d love to come back to Newcastle United, apparently the Frenchman said:

“When I think of my time at Newcastle, I can think of only one word - fantastic.

“I really loved my time there as I enjoyed English football and I’d love to come back if Mr Shepherd would have me.

“There was only one reason why I left Newcastle and that was Graeme Souness.”

This particular article from a few days back caught our eye and while it is from that cow Louise Taylor who seems to hate Newcastle United, there are one or two talking points that stand out…
