UEFA Cup Round of 32 and Round of 16 Draw Results

The draw for the UEFA Cup Round of 32 has just taken place in Nyon. We will face Zulte-Waregem of Belgium, with the away leg on February 14 or 15, and the home leg on February 22 (subject to official confirmation from UEFA).

If we can get through that we would then face the winner of the tie between Fenerbahce and AZ, with the home leg on March 8 and the away leg on March 14-15 (again subject to official confirmation from UEFA).

After 37 years without a notable trophy to Newcastle’s name…

…Newcastle picked up the Intertoto Cup last night as Auxerre, Ethnikos Achnas, Grasshoppers Zurich, Hertha Berlin, Kayserispor, Marseille, NK Maribor, Odense, SV Ried and Twente Enschede all failed to make the last 32 of the Eufa Cup.

The search pretty much goes on - but this sleight of hand seems to to have deceived Freddy Shepherd, who, having promised to leave Newcastle once a trophy was secured, seems to be on his way out of the club if unconfirmed but forceful rumours are to be believed.
