A game that was perhaps ineffable in the truer sense of the term left many feeling confused as to how they should be feeling. Had Newcastle lost valiantly? Had Newcastle expended copious amounts of energy and effort for nothing? It all depends on how you want to look at things. Didier Drogba’s 74th minute winner sent Newcastle back home with nothing to show for their efforts but another injury. The seriousness of Charles N’Zogbia’s injury is, at this point, unknown. The performance itself procured plaudits from both Roeder and the enigmatic Jose Mourinho, but what do you think?
Were the tactics spot on? Was playing for a draw the best we could hope for against a side who had not lost at home under Mourinho? Who impressed you? Who didn’t?
