I assumed these meant for Newcastle only, so here goes.
Game of the Season: 4-1 @ Spurs. did not see that coming.
Home Performance of the Season: 3-0 over Reading, annihilated them, gave them no chance
Away Performance of the Season: 4-1 vs Spurs, very surprising result, great comeback, players looked like they cared, a great game
Goal of the Season: Owen’s header vs the mackems. dominated the game, set us on our way for a great result.
Player of the Season: Habib Beye, made the position his own, one of the best RBs in the league
Signing of the Season: Habib Beye, followed by Abdoulaye Faye
Highest Point of the Season: probably just before the home gave vs Portsmouth, unbeaten @ home, top 6 position, looked good until that point
Lowest Point of the Season: 6-0 loss to Man Utd, rubbing the salt into the wounds after Big Sam leaves, thought we were in trouble then.
(and just for laughs) Toon Manager of the Season: Keegan. at least he got us going and saved us from a very real threat of relegation.
I’ll add a few of my own
Worst signing of the season: Alan Smith, looked a fair buy @ 6million, has been utterly naff, up front and in midfield, not sure where his place lies @ SJP
Worst player: Shola Ameobi. granted, he didn’t get many chances to play, but when he did, he was dreadful. hasn’t scored since 2006, should be offloaded to whoever will take him.
Biggest shock: KK’s return, especially given the literally 100s of names touted for the job. I’m quite glad it wasn’t anyone like Martin Jol or Didier Deschamps.
perhaps the most tumultuous season Newcastle United have ever experienced in the top flight?
Sent in on: May 11th, 2008 at 8:48 am
Game of the Season: Either Arsenal at home, or Tottenham away. I also enjoyed beating Scumberland at SJP.
Home Performance of the Season: Arsenal. Great determination, getting back into the game and probably deserving to win against a very good football team.
Away Performance of the Season: No doubt, Tottenham 4-1. Great performance from all the boys.
Goal of the Season: Tayls’s equalizer against Arsenal. We thoroughly deserved it, against the best team in the league at that time.
Player of the Season: Habib Beye - Been rock solid, often fantastic, since December.
Signing of the Season: Beye. Faye and Joey also deserves credit for what they’ve showed in the latter part of this season.
Highest Point of the Season: Beating Fulham, which started our run of solid performances. Seeing the faces of Kevin, the players and the staff after that match was just amazing.
Lowest Point of the Season: 0-6 against Manure was extremely depressing, but the games between the two Fulham-games was largely rubbish.

Game of the Season: Spurs Away, what a great win! Totally unexpected, and we blew them away!!
Home Performance of the Season: I guess Spurs at home. Those fu**ers think they are so damn good, but we’ve beaten them 3 yrs in a row, away and home!!!
Away Performance of the Season: Spurs Away, what a great win! Totally unexpected, and we blew them away!!
Goal of the Season: no one comes to mind! all the goals against Spurs away
Player of the Season: Harper, Beye, Faye
Signing of the Season: Habib Beye or Faye
Highest Point of the Season: The win against Sunderland!! My first live derby-game, and the crowd and atmosphere was amazing!!!
Lowest Point of the Season: The games between the away win to Fulham and the first win with Keegan!!! Also against Fulham!!
(and just for laughs) Toon Manager of the Season: KEVING KEEGAN!!!
WE WILL BE BACK, WITH A VENGANCE!!!!

Game Of The Season - Everton (H) 3-2. 3 quality goals from Butt, Emre and Owen respectively, the superb blocks from Cacapa and Faye. Suspense, tension and excitement right up until the final whistle. Going into the last four minutes with the score at 1-1 and us semmingly destined for a point and a bore draw, Emre and Owen come on from the bench to set up a thrilling finale with two quality goals. A very late Given OG raised a few nerves but we held out to gain 3 hard fought points.
Home Performance Of The Season - Arsenal (1-1). Every player showed 100% passion and commitment to upset the high flying Gunners. The fans, players and the whole of Newcastle United came back fighting, growling and frothing at the mouth after an early, spectacular strike from Adebayor. We laid seige to the Arsenal goal with Alan Smith showing the way, Geordie Boy Steven Taylor getting our just rewards with his goal on the hour. This was the model for how every player who pulls on a black and white shirt should play every week.
Away Performance Of The Season - Spurs (4-1). I don’t think many would disagree with this selection. After the draw at Birmingham we seemed to have turned a corner but what we didn’t see coming when we’d turned that corner was this. An absolute steam-rolling demolition of Juande Ramos’ men. We played with style, verve and most importantly had the presence of mind to take our chances. Falling behind to a Darren Bent goal it seemed Newcastle United had reverted to type but that was far from the case. Owen performing at his sparkling best and taking his goal tally to 3 in 3. Nicky Butt’s goal just before half time took the wind from Tottenham’s sails and in the ensuing 45 minutes we showed the southern press what questioning Keegan and his teams can do with excellent finishes from Geremi, Owen and Martins. Man Of The Match - EVERYONE.
Goal Of The Season - Charles N’Zogbia Vs Boro (A). After receiving a pass in midfield from Ramage, young Charlie headed towards goal, dribbling and teasing the Boro’ defence before unleashing a block buster of a strike staight into the top right hand corner with his unfamiliar and underused right foot, leaving The Riverside stunned and silenced (not that’s a notable feat)
Player Of The Season - Nicky Butt. It was a tight contest between the former Manchester United ace and Habib Beye for me but our midfield enforcer just wins through. At the age of 33, playing in one of the most physically demanding areas of the pitch, Butt has summoned up all his previous experience to become the ever reliable, unsung hero of the Newcastle United side. Always willing to work his arse off for the team and providing countless tackles, interceptions and ahem fouls to quell opposition attacks and not to mention chipping in with a few goals at crucial times this season the receding ginger maestro is more the deserving of many man of the match awards this season. One thing I think he could improve on however are his long and high driving balls forward, other than that he’ll do for us.
Signing Of The Season - Habib Beye. The player was signed from French football with a big reputation for a mere £2m. Not many Newcastle fans had heard of him but he was revered by his Marseille colleage and supporters and after a slightly shaky start he soon got to grips with the style, physicalitly and way of the Premier League. Toon fans have taken the Senegelese national to their hearts and has probably been better in one season than all the right backs NUFC have had in the last 10 years. His all action dislplays which include marauding runs forward, last ditch tackles and the dramatic last minute goal against Birmingham City in December have showed him to be in my opinion the best right back in the Premier League in his first season. A shame we didn’t sign him earlier on in his career.
Highest Point Of The Season - The return of Kevin Keegan. Other candidates for this for me are being top of the league after the first game of the season and beating the Mackems, but the return of the King tops the lot. There were rumours of a return and a ‘dream ticket’ partnership with Alan Shearer was being mooted in the press but you never really believed it could happen again. He gave a short interview to Sky Sports which made you think a little harder about what was going on inside his mind and that of Mike Ashley. After all that however it seemed that Harry Redknapp was destined for the job but that didn’t materialise after he apparentelt turned US down. The 15-16 January brought with his an unexpected flurry of bets placed the return of the messiah once again and this time it really was true. I was out at the time so had no idea that this was going on, when I returned home I switched on SSN as was my customary thing at the time becuase of the manager situation, I didn’t expect much and prior was beginning to think if we’d ever a appoint a new manager. The screen came on, I glanced down and saw in all the yellowey glory of the SSN breaking news ticker that Keegan had been appointed Newcastle United manager. My pulse rate rose, I gave a big ”yes!!” and duly started chanting Keegan, Keegan followed by a there’s only one Kevin Keegan. I was so excited I could stand up and still had the match against Stoke to look forward to. Being too young to remember Keegan’s first spell as manager I thought I’d never get to experience the Keegan factor and thought I was consiged to hear the story’s of ‘The Entertainers’ but all that changed on that day.
Lowest Point Of The Season - Losing to Man Utd 6-0 & 5-1. Not really much to be said, we were just rubbish and Man Utd’s quality shows through as usual when they play us. We showed some sparks during both games but in the end just fell massively short on both occasions.
Manager of the season - Are you taking the P** KEEGAN KEEGAN KEEGAN
