The latest SJP expansion, managerial discontent, supporter unrest and new kit unveiling have shown Newcastle to have a healthy and not unusual semblance for an ambitious Premiership club within striking range of the top four. All the meanwhile, footballing ordeals - as the matches are fast becoming, have shown just how hollow that exterior shell is.
Manchester City came to our current fortress of a stadium, and the ground was indeed well-furnished and neat. Mpenza put three more impalpable points on the Premiership table for Man City, however. Season tickets need renewing in the not too distant future and the specious soundbytes emanating from SJP, coupled with the lack of footballing triumph, will no doubt continue to leave the ever-improving ground appearing more gaudy than glorious.
Game 31: Man City (h)
Goal 40: Emile Mpenza
Blame: Oguchi Onyewu
Reason: Fluid movement from Mpenza saw him peel away from Onyewu, his marker, rather considerably before he eased Manchester City’s relegation fears.

Bramble responsible for 1 goal? Presumably that is one goal a game!

Ian Young’s opinion reflects that of the misinformed majority who believe what they hear and not what they see.
Titus is not the walking disaster portrayed by many but is in fact a decent defender.
More worrying looking at the goals against attributed to midfielders is Roeders recent statement as to his joy and satisfaction at his strong midfield.
Sadly Roeder has totally lost the plot.

That can’t be right - Bramble was at fault for BOTH of the goals against Fulham at SJP - so there goes the credibility of this article… Having said that, they’re always a good read.

Gary, here is how the Fulham goals were ‘credited’ & neither was awarded to Bramble:
Game 26: Fulham (a)
Goal 34: Heidar Helguson
Blame: Nicky Butt
Reason: A very clear-cut case. Butt’s awful back-pass was the perfectly weighted through-ball for Helguson to apply an admittedly impressive finish.
Game 26: Fulham (a)
Goal 35: Brian McBride
Blame: Stephen Carr
Reason: I don’t know how to put this kindly, but if he and Papa Diop were in prison together…

Taking account of the number of goals we have, or haven’t scored this season it looks like Roeders ambition for next season is a host of nil, nil draws. Now thats something to look forward to …..

It’s nice to see that we have an upcoming great solid defender in peter ramage then.
