When I read a lot of the comments that appear on websites I generally tend to dismiss 90% of it immediately as being either totally uninteresting or just rampant drivel.

Occasionally you read something that makes you go “Oh really!” or “Gosh!”

But the best ones are usuallly the ones that make you go “No shit Sherlock!”

I think its about time that Glen Roeder started concentrating more on his team’s performance and little less on the interviews.

After the Bolton Balls-Up he said “There’s not a single person here who is happy with that result”

Okay - all together……”NO SHIT SHERLOCK!”

“Every day on the training ground I see character”

My next door neighbour has character. He hears strange voices in his head, supports Scunthorpe and claims that his wife Tanya is from Jamaica.

Character is probably one of the most over rated qualities in a footballer. Don’t give me character, give me skill.

Tamya is actually a small white garden chair from B&Q.

A mere 48 thousand in the stands would suggest that some of the fans were not too happy before the game.

The look on Freds face would suggest that he was more than a little peeved during the game.

Given a few weeks to think about it, I reckon even Roeder might come up “ticked off”

Now - as for the players.

Apologetic, disappointed, embarrassed, disgusted.

But “Angry”? What the hell have they got to be angry about?

Roeder tells us that some people will just look at the result, and maybe that’s unfair, as for 60 minutes we played some of the best football that we’ve played all season.

2 points here.

First of all, until the FA convene’s a special panel to award extra points for anything other than goals, then its only the points, and hence the score that actually counts.

So lets try to stay focussed on “the score” as the primary means of measuring our performance.

Secondly - if you’re going to brag - go for something with a little bit more ooomph than “we played some of the best football that we’ve played all season”

We’re teetering just above the relegation zone, with a number of points that would hardly affect your Norwich Union premium.

The way things are at the moment if Alan Shearer had said he was only retiring from first class football he’d still be able to play for the Toon.

Raise the bar a bit, Glenn.

Finally I’d like to make a statement that Shola Ameobi is very nearly a quality striker.

He nearly moves into space, nearly completes passes, nearly gets off the ground when he jumps, nearly controls the ball and nearly manages to stay on his feet.

It’s about time Shola stopped trying to play to Shearer’s strengths and found some of his own.

Is it just me or would anyone else like to see, Martins and Rossi up front, with Duff, N’Zogbia, Dyer and Milner all on the park together? Put Parker in goal if you have to.

That would be some laxative for a defence.
