Phil Dowd of Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire will take charge of our game with Fulham at Craven Cottage later today. It’ll be the 2nd time this season Phil has taken a Newcastle match, with the other being just down the road at Stamford Bridge, where we narrowly lost 1-0 to Chelsea. Last season Dowd took charge of a win for us in the capital, when we triumphed 4-2 at West Ham.
He has a colourful history with Fulham, for in his 1st ever Premiership match in 2001, Fulham vs Everton at the Cottage, he dismissed 2 players and had to deal with a 22-man brawl. Quite an introduction!
