Tyneside’s early optimism and joyous bewilderment came to a crashing bump back to reality on Monday night, with Newcastle falling to a 1-0 defeat to bottom team Derby County. A thoroughly uninspiring and unorganised performance from the Magpies opposed much of the decent football witnessed this season; as fans in the away allocation and on TV alike, sat stunned at the shocking display that United offered.
