Your Shout: Chelsea 1-0 Newcastle United - Have Your Say - Write In

Didier Drogba’s 74th minute winner sent Newcastle back home with nothing to show for their efforts but another injury. The seriousness of Charles N’Zogbia’s injury is, at this point, unknown. The performance itself procured plaudits from both Roeder and the enigmatic Jose Mourinho, but what do you think?
Were the tactics spot on? Was playing for a draw the best we could hope for against a side who had not lost at home under Mourinho? Who impressed you? Who didn’t? Will the expected defeat have any lasting implications? Can the injury situation get any more ridiculous?! How did the younger players do? Do you feel proud after a loss like this? As ever, Geordie faithful, we implore you to have your say!

we are the geordies the geordie boomental are t boys we we are mad so fuck the mackems the manager should of died in football not live a life ofluxery so if are you are reading thimessag the toon will respect you for what you are doing

Sat through the whole 90 mins and got exactly what I had expected - no points (knew that poxy Drogba would score) but a battling performance. Haven’t felt any prouder this season than last night… and a bit sorry too as we certainly deserved 1 point (at times I felt we had a chance to grab all 3 :))
Even the Chelski fans watching it with us had to admit that we gave them a good run for Roman’s money… some even congratulated us afterwards…
Well done kids (& Shay & Nicky :)) - that’s the Fighting Magpies I want to see..
Just one “complaint” - can we PLEASE stop losing any more players??? We must have enough bad luck for 5 seasons… one of those days we won’t have any players left in the academy to cover for the big ones…

Yeah, we can’t seem to play a match without players being injured, if we keep going like this we’ll have none left. Seriously like there’s around 13 odd injured, I think. Like the season’s not even half over and 3 of our keepers have had surgery, come off it like. When will it end?!
What I saw of the match, Given made some very good saves, all the lads were good.
It was a really good preformance from them, pity we couldn’t hold them to a draw. Still we’ll get them back. The lads were outstanding. We matched Chelsea in most places, which is saying something. When you consider both teams circumstances, Chelsea being the better off, obviously I think we did really really well. Still bring on Watford!!

Well done lads.

Great performance from all concerned.
Not going to name names because all of the players
in the shirt worked together as a team. We are still the last team to deny Chelsea a goal in the league so they were always going to score, apart from that we matched them. Just hope we sign 15 players in January as we’re running out quick.

Thought at least a draw would have been a fair result.
It has been a nice turn around in the last few matches and gives a whole new look at the rest of the season ahead. I stll hate the fact that the loss to Chelsea will just be a bad continued statistic of results by the time we play them next season at Stamford Bridge. The effort today deserved to change the no goals and no result curse. The injury situation has to end soon, it is just plain stupid. It would be interesting to see how Chelsea would do with the same injury list. Looking forward to listening to the Watford match on the internet (I don’t believe it is televised) here in Vancouver, Canada. Howay the lads.

I was only able to catch the last 20 minutes of the game (just in time to see Drogba score) but the lads looked alright. They looked pretty tentative and the passing wasn’t great. Given made of couple of very nice saves in the short time I was able to watch. A point would have been great but considering the team that was fielded I’d have to say that it was a moral victory and a very credible showing. All the more motivation to slaughter Watford on Saturday.
