A new poll for a new manager, I’d vote “yes” one million times if I could.
Howay the lads! Walking in a Keegan Wonderland!

Now that Harry Redknapp has said “no” to the job, he has been removed from the poll, so if you were one of the 48 who voted for him (out of over 1,100) then feel free to change your vote. Jurgen Klinsmann has also been removed, having agreed to take over at Bayen Munich from the beginning of next season, so again, if you were one of the 92 that voted for the German, feel free to change as well!

There is one major topic on everybody’s lips at the moment and here at Newcastle-Online we thought it high time that we got your opinion on it: should Sam Allardyce be relieved of his duties as Newcastle United manager, or does he need to be given more time by Ashley, Mort and the supporters?
After the defeat at Wigan, where our away lads and lasses chanted for Alan Shearer, sang “We’re sh!t and we’re sick of it” and booed the team off the field, and with a trip to bogey ground Stamford Bridge next up, has time run out on Big Sam’s big plan for NUFC just 7 months into his reign?
Just like the last one, it’s as simple as “yes” or “no” over to the right of your screen… but if you’ve got the time, then we’d love to hear your reasoning for whatever answer you give in our “Comments” section.
I have a feeling this could be a lively one…

As you may have already noticed, we finally have a new poll up and running on the website.
The question is simply this: Are you happier with Newcastle United in late November 2007 than you were with Newcastle United in late November 2006?
Before you rush over to the right to click on your answer, cast your mind back to November 28th 2006…

What’s this all about?
Since Mike Ashley took full control of Newcastle United in June, some people here at Newcastle-Online have gone about forging a mutually beneficial relationship with the football club, something which was sadly lacking during the previous regime. Ourselves, NUFC.com and other fanzines like True Faith and The Mag have recognised the importance of good relations with the club for a long while now and finally, under the new owner, the people that matter have begun to respond.

Martin O’Neill brings his under-stocked Aston Villa side to St. James’ Park tomorrow as the claret-and-blues look for their first victory of the 2007/2008 season after their narrow 2-1 reverse to Liverpool on opening day. Waiting for them at Gallowgate are the rejuvenated Newcastle United and 50,000 baying Geordies, intent on starting of the Ashley/Mort/Allardyce “era†with a bang, with 4,000 black and white streamers for the East Stand’s occupants and a brand-new “giant flag†to pass around, apparently…

In The Independent on Friday, Newcastle United Chairman Chris Mort sat down for a rare interview with Michael Walker and spoke fairly candidly about his new position in the North East. Freddy Shepherd’s successor explained some of the reasons why he had landed up here, touched on the Kieron Dyer subject and unearthed some interesting pieces of information about the previous regime. As has been the case since his arrival it was refreshing to hear from Mr. Mort, so if you missed it, why not give it a once-over now and let us know what you think about the job the new man in charge has been doing since he arrived in June?

As if we haven’t had enough change to contend with already this summer, our first home game of the new Premiership season against Aston Villa on Saturday evening sees the brand-new “swipe card†season ticket make its competitive debut at St. James’ Park. Further proof, if it was needed, that the winds of change at Gallowgate haven’t finished blowing just yet.
