The referee for the 2nd leg of our UEFA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round clash with FK Ventspils will be Thomas Einwaller of Austria. Mr Einwaller is just 28 years of age, and is from Scheffau am Tilden Kaiser, and his occupation is a bank clerk.

Just a few weeks ago, Einwaller was in charge of Cork City’s Champions League qualifier against Apollon Limasso, while he was a prominent figure at the 2005 Toulon Tournament, including refereeing the final between France and Portugal.

We have had a couple of games refereed by an Austrian in the recent past. Their number 1 Konrad Plautz took charge of our 4-0 win over Olympiacos and our 3-0 win in Mallorca in 2004 and 2005.
