I'm absolutely loving LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver at the minute.

Anyone got any recommendations of similar artists?

We are not the Infadels by Infadels sounds like the first album.  The Rockier side of electronic.

Similar to Sound of Silver?  Try Asa Breed by Matthew Dear.

Amazing album, defo crept into my top 5 Electronic Disc's.  His live show is second to none, as well.

Soulwax - Most of the remixes we've made for other people over the years except for the one for Einstürzende Neubauten because we lost it and a few we didn't think sounded good enough or just didn't fit in length-wise, but including some that are hard to find because either people forgot about them or simply because they haven't been released yet, a few we really love, one we think is just ok, some we did for free, some we did for money, some for ourselves without permission and some for friends as swaps but never on time and always at our studio in Ghent.

Them(well, 2 Many DJ's) and Hollatronix are the kings of mash-ups.  The Skee-lo Breeders one is my fav.
Aye, it's mint. As it the 10cc / Destiny's Child one.

10cc - Dreadlock Holiday into Dolly Parton's - 9 to 5 into Royskopp - Eple... oh the memories of losing it to that  Laughing idiot2

Wonder if anyone can help me? Does anyone know the name of the festival band that are a drum'n'bass live band? They only do gigs and never record any of their music (you can download from their site) and the drummer is absolutely amazing? I had loads of links on my old mac but have lost them all and now, through memory loss issues, cant for the life of me remember their name. I saw them at the Big Chill and in the east end of London about 4 years ago.

Based in Brighton i think but not even sure of that now.

Keirtesu?

keiretsu? Played at my local music festival...proper ace!

They played at my mate's night on New Year's Eve last year, like you say: proper ace.

Don't think they're who Chez is on about though, pretty sure they're form London, now that I think about it.

They are...and they have albums too Laughing

Laughing They do, don't they!!

Oh well never mind, think I just saw the words, live drum & bass and Brighton in the same sentence and my mind went back to new year leading me to totally ignore the majority of chez's question.

Pretty sure I could find out for you though Chez, if you want? My mate's a bit of a grand fromage in the Brighton breaks scene, he probably knows them.

Remembered them.

They are called The Bays and they have never released a record, listen to track 1 on the link to hear their philosophy. They only have a 'Gigography' not a 'discography'.

He is right too, the big chill is the best festival in the UK.

Forget every rule you’ve ever been taught about live music. Ignore every outmoded notion of what it is to be a ‘live’ band. Forget even what you think you think ‘live music’ actually means.

What drives this band is a need to communicate with their audience in a way not possible with traditional live bands. There are no ‘songs’ as such to perform, there’s no album to promote, there are no commercial imperatives at play. The Bays only perform live, they never rehearse, they don’t have a set-list and they couldn’t ever do the same performance twice. It’s all about the moment – an experience or an event that exists between the band and the audience for one time only.

The Bays have no intention of releasing any material in the immediate future, but even if you could capture the performance in digital format, it would only represent a fraction of the total Bays experience. Because what they do that is so unique, so unprecedented, is that they enter into a creative partnership with the crowd, receiving feedback from the dance floor and reinterpreting that response, rewiring the vibe and taking it to a new level.

Theres loads to listen to on the site. Got to be seen live though. They are a sort of Ozric Tentacles for e-heads  Laughing (nae one knows who they are either probably  Laughs)
