Ibrahimovic
Freddy Adu
Nesta
Sergio Ramos
Puyol
Andy Johnson
Ronaldinho (shock, horror)
Jermaine Jenas (everyone bar Newcastle and to an extent Spurs fans think he's top class)

Puyol is a brilliant defender.

I think 99% of football fans acknowledge the fact Jenas is pony.

Lampard and Rooney.

I think Lampard had 2 touches on tuesday night.  A corner and a penalty.

Is this some sort of wind up?

Nesta is the best centre back in the world.  Puyol is top 3.

Ronaldinho I won't even go into.  Smile

Watched him many times, and every time I've wondered what the fuss is all about, in fact I've thought "you're s****".  There was a great line in The Guardian about him in the last WC, something along the lines of, never has a World Cup winning sides star player offered so little and it's true.  I've seen you stick up for him before Jonny, in fairness though, in the main I'm going off his performances for Italy where for me he has looked like a very, very poor man's Iniesta.  I've not seen hardly anything of him for Roma though.

Don't think Nesta's the force he was a couple of years ago personally, but still quality no doubt.

Nesta was briefly one of the best three in the world, but for me there are many better, Cannavaro for one.

Torres is the most overrated player in the world by miles.

He only gets about 10 goals a season and isn't a particularly great all round player yet he's talked about as world class. f****** bollocks. It will be hilarious if United or Liverpool blow £25m on him. I've got no doubts he would flop big time.

Torres will flop in England but he's still a class act imo.

Nesta is as great as he ever was imo and is a pleasure to watch.

I definitely prefer him to Cannavaro.

People saying Totti and Torres are overrated are out of space
Torres is one of the youngest bright talents in world football and Totti is Roma's legend for more then a decade

You know that comparing Carlisle with Roma is making you look ridiculous
Yes you are right about Totti that at international level he never showed what he is capable of but at club level he was/is Roma's engine and mainly because of him they won the tittle in 00/01 season.
Saying he is the most overrated player in Europe by a mile is just ridiculous opinion

I take it there is no word in Turkish or Bulgarian or whatever for irony?

It's not ridiculous it's fact.  The players he's mentioned alongside is absolutely laughable.

He's never a £25m player but a class player nonetheless. A goal every 2 and a half games for a youngster in La Liga with an average side for much of the time is pretty impressive. Great touch and links up play well.

Also, can't forget Beckham.  At any point of his career.

Ok then, tell me why Torres is world class.

I never said he is world class
I said he is young striker,only 23,who has bright future ahead of him
Now tell me how many strikers in Spain can you tell which are 23 and they are playing for 5 seasons in La Liga already
He is only 23 and is playing in rather average team in Spain.Then again he is managing to score goals

02/03
29=13goals
03/04
35=19goals
04/05
38=16goals
05/06
36=13goals
06/07
31=10goals

Its not something spectacular but the lad is only 23 and is playing in rather average team in Spain
I think its unfair to say he is the most overrated player in Europe when its obvious that he is great talent and will become even greater player in the next 5-6 years

Its fact only for you obviosly considering that he is Roma's best player for more then 7-8 years
Saying a player is the most overrated in Europe by a mile when he has won 2 times the award for best player in Italy(2003 - 2004,2000 - 2001) is not true at all.
