With club football having more or less coming to a close throughout Europe, for many teams now is a time that player recruitment will really start to kick into high gear. And with a number of players needed at St. James’ Park before things get going again in August, our very own Newcastle United figure to be chief amongst those looking to make early moves. The only news at St. James’ Park this week is that of the imminent departure of chairman Chris Mort who shall be returning to his previous job. Mort has worked hard to rebuild the foundations of the club, and it shall ultimately take years for the fans to fully determine the success of his short but productive reign. This week’s edition of SHSoSHG? will look at a player considered already gone. Is there a way back for David Rozehnal?

I’m conscious that many will not like this article, so the easily offended should not read on. But I think the events of the last fortnight are a worry. Perhaps a minor one, but a worry none the less.
Going back to the initial incident, the tone of the post-Chelsea interview came completely out of the blue, rather like Keegan’s more famous outburst in 1996. Most of us were left scratching our heads, wondering what exactly had brought it on.

Hardly breaking news, but it would seem that Kevin Keegan reached his own conclusions regarding the future of Stephen Carr, and ultimately agreed with our own conclusion to the most recent edition of this series that the Irishman should be released without further ado. Ramage and Troisi were also released, and Newcastle-Online wish the pair all the best. Moving on, we turn our attentions to Jose Enrique.

Back in September, Newcastle United and Sam Allardyce embarked on another rollercoaster adventure and in May of the next year, we end the season on a high with the return of the Messiah, Kevin Keegan; so that’s why people say life is always interesting at St James Park!
