Ref News: Atkinson for the Derby
By Paul Mosley On Sat 10 Nov 2007 |
Martin Atkinson of Leeds takes charge of his 1st ever Tyne-Wear derby and his 2nd Newcastle match of the season at the Stadium of Light today.
He was last on a Newcastle game in October as we beat Everton 3-2 at St James’ Park, and last on a Sunderland game as they lost 1-0 at Old Trafford to Manchester United in September.

Omar,
If Martins is Sick that’s probably the reason Sam isņt playing him.

Yo im getting fed up of this, the defense has been awful, they are supposed to learn from Boumsoung mistakes, as the worst player to touch the premership rather than follow in his footsteps.
Also i dont get this right! we uncovered a star, ‘Martins’, he has shown his goal scoring ability at both this and the international level, he’s got pace, strength and ability, and a rocket of a left foot, he’s still young, so he’s got lots more to give, yet everytime viduka is back from injury, even if martins gets goals in consecutive games, he gets dropped.
He should play with owen, no question, together they will work defenses hard, tyring them out. No disrespect to Viduka, he is a god in his own right, but he is more about technical ability and coming on as a sub, he will confuse defences and work well changing the dynamics of the attack, but i dont think he should start.
So im campaigning for Martins, he’s Sick, as soon as he plays several consecutive games, you will se he’s true ability. and he will scare attacks, and owen will feed from hes movement.
