Has anyone got a decent sized image of either the brown ale logo or more importantly the blue start logo with the cityscape in it. My mate needs it to get on a surfboard he is getting made for him. I've found a few crappy small ones on google but nothing large enough without being really pixelated.

Thanks in advance, a link or a PM would be great.

Ta.

Why wouldn't you just email the company for a vector based image?  Even the one Dave linked you might not enlarge properly.
I'm sure they'd be willing to comply.

What is a .eps file and how would one open it? PS good enough? What're the dimensions? Sorry, never heard of it before.

Guy Debord and the Aesthetics of Cine-Sabotage

Just as the projection was about to begin, Guy-Ernest Debord was supposed to step onto the stage and make a few introductory remarks. Had he done so, he would simply have said: 'There is no film. Cinema is dead. No more films are possible. If you wish, we can move on to a discussion.'

Vector files (.eps) can be made to any size, dimensions are proportionate to one another. Ideally they open in Illustrator, but you can open them in photoshop and tell it what size you want it to be.

Is a vector file just effectively a series of coordinates then? Make this point Xtimes distance from this other point, regardless of the scale?

Never understood them.

Obviously dont know the intricacies of how it works, but that's the principle behind them I'm sure, yeah.

Ah. Thumbs up

But then you save it as a raster?

If you wish. There lots of applications where you wouldn't ever rasterise it.

But how do you display it, on here for example?

I assume flash uses vectors?

Aye, Flash is vector-based. Maybe I misunderstood your question. Aye, in order to show it on your screen it will always have to be converted to a bitmap (not saved, just converted so it can be shown on yo monitor).

Corel Draw will keep it vector (may have to convert as .ai file) and also Freehand, etc

Last version released in January 2006 according to wiki.  Remember using it at school, was quite canny.  Reckon it's probably been pretty much superceded by the likes of Illustrator

Aye.  I remember learning it as a precursor to Illustrator.  Not sure why my school did that as I've never touched the software since.

Illustrator is for professional vector artwork and Corel Draw (cheap crap) is not - the exception is for signmakers.

If you have a vector artwork of brown ale give it to signmaker to output (cut vinyl) at any size & stick on for you, should be reasonably cheap compared to hassle & cost of paints.

That's what I was thinking.  Probably cost the same to have a couple printed up as it would for someone to hand paint it.  The colours would be spot on as well.
