Richard Branson was on the radio talking about taking over Northern Rock and rebranding it as 'Virgin Money'.

Does this mean we have to put Virgin Money - possibly in RED - on our shirts, or does the previous contract become null and void, allowing us to keep the money we've already spent, and allow Ashley to get a more lucrative sponsorship deal?

I'm not sure, i think what would probably happen is we continue with Northern Rock until the contract runs out, as thats who were sponsored with. It would mean a shirt change, and am sure the club could argue quite rightly against that.

Branson surely doesn't have the money to buy NR huh

If he buys the company and just changes the name, surely the contract would still be valid and we'd have Virgin Money on our shirts.

Nothing would change really. The only thing that would change is next time we get a new shirt it would most likely have Virgin Money on instead of Northern Rock. Nothing would change with current shirts.

That's the amazing thing.
He doesn't have any.
He is a front for everyone else.
He's getting someone else to back him, and he'll just take over the brand, and hopefully draw more people to Virgin.

I do like what Virgin 1 is doing on the TV tho.

There is absolutely no way the majority of newcastle fans are going to walk round with 'virgin' in big letters on their shirts.

Only the virgins will mind, the rest will have girlfriends or wives to attest to the contrary

I think it's pushing it to say Richard Branson doesn't have any money. He does own a lot of stuff.
