Only two standout shows so far for me:
1. Season 2 Dexter (5 stars) 2. Reaper (4 stars)
Bionic Woman was okay but not as good as the two listed above.
What's Reaper all about? Why u like? Good to see you're still loving the Dexter. Reaper - its a supernatural fantasy that does not take itself seriously at all - I would say it is similar to Buffy but inhabited by loser/stoner types. I would definately say it is an acquired taste and not necessarily for everyone. Horror/fantasy/comedy Dexter is well written well acted and has a very sick sense of humour. Also -like all good fiction- deals with the important things in life as alagory in a way that makes it approachable due to a usually unreal premise. I'll give pushing daisies a look next.

One more thing about Dexter. The first two episodes were so good I suspect they were leaked intentionally to announce themselves. Many people (including myself) were afriad that Dexter had really played himself out in the first season and had nowhere to go, but .... was I wrong or what? They set up an incredibly compelling set of season story arcs from the start of the first episode - they are so well thought out and set up so quickly its scary. The backing cast is also outstanding.

I'm so glad Dexter is coming back now. I kept myself from watching the leaked episodes, because I didn't want to wait for months after seeing two episodes. Dexter was probably my favourite show last season, everything about it was top-notch and, from what I've heard from basically everyone who has seen the leaked episodes, it is just as good this season.

Dexter is outstanding in so many ways...The freeflow internalising in the (first person voiceover commentary) is handled beautifully and couldn't have been easy to balance taking into account the character.

I am tempted to say this season is even better. The first couple of Dexter episodes took a while to get going IMO... not this time.

Finally saw the "pushing daisies" pilot - similar genre as Reaper but as if it were created by Wes Anderson - quirky and good... might be brilliant and I doubt we'll find out. My prediction: Its too good, so it will be cancelled after just a couple of episodes.
BTW Anna Friel of "GOAL!" fame is the female lead, she is great in this role and does an excellent American accent... almost as good as Michelle Ryan's in Bionic Woman.

Talk this morning is that Universal Studios are getting close to agreeing a deal with Joss Whedon and the cast to produce a sequel to Serenity

South Park was a bit disappointing IMO. Not bad, but I was expecting better. Chris Hanson was great though

Wasn't impressed with Bionic Woman. Reaper was okay, but nowhere near on par with Daisies.
I enjoyed Chuck. Adam Baldwin is the king.

Good god... I have just seen the final Bionic Woman pilot (not the pre-air) and they f*cked it up big time. The recast of her sister was a disaster as were the reshot scenes. Also episode 2 of Reaper was poor - I am lowering both on my list. So far I only recommend Pushing Daisies as far as new shows go. It's going to get cancelled.
Oh and if anyone is interested in malcontent theatre - "Damages" is pretty good and its almost over so you don't have to wait to find out what happens. It didn't make my original list ebcause it was a "summer" show (started in June).

So many new American shows have restarted, the first 2 episodes of Dexter have been good. Supernatural - season 3 Prison Break - season 3 NCIS - season 5 Criminal Minds - season 3 The Unit - season 3 Bones - season 3 All have now started in the States but.. The Dresden Files and E-Ring will not be coming back

Pushing Daisies was just superb again this week. Easily the best thing on television at present.
Next week's episode is written by Fuller and directed by Paul Edwards - the combo that produced "Company Man" for Heroes last season.

Seriously doubt that it's better than Dexter, tbh. Will have to get it though
