Yeah, the fight was such an anticlimax. I get the feeling they ran out of budget or something, so had to just tack on some crappy ending instead of a big deathbattle.

It was excellent for a run of episodes mid-season ("company man" stands out). But I'd agree that it's nowhere near as good as is made out.
For me, it succeeds on a "that was pretty cool" level, but not on a dramatic level. It's certainly nowhere near as engaging as other leading sci-fi shows (BSG, LOST, Firefly etc). Mainly because the characters, beyond their powers, are all pretty rubbish.

Average again.
Can somebody tell Tim Kring that he can't write for s***, and that he should stand aside and let Jesse Alexander or Bryan Fuller write the important episodes of the show please?

Erm, I actually thought that was pretty good. Yeah, nothing much happened, but it set the scene quite nicely. I preferred it to the first episode of the new season of Prison Break, which you lot seemed to love. Oh well, never mind.

Anyone else think that Kensei (sp?) is a young version of Malcolm McDowell's character?
I reckon that it's also him who chucked Mr Sulu off the roof and his special power is that he can be reborn a la Doctor Who. I also think that they've ripped off Dr Who by making this incarnation of him evil.

I'd imagine that the REAL Kensei (i.e. the legendary warrior) will turn out to be Hiro. In other words, he'll save the swordsmith etc, then credit it all to Kensei in order to give people something to believe in. Or something.

Oh, and I also wouldn't be surprised if the flying guy in Claire's story turned out to be a young Peter, by the way. Although I don't know how it would work.

Possibly, Sulu did say that Hiro had a destiny that he wanted him to help him fulfil.

Maybe, they've certainly chosen an actor that looks pretty much the same as he would have looked as a kid. That's one of the reasons why I think that Kensei is Malcolm, because the actor looks like he did in Clockwork Orange and he's even trying to do his accent a la Ewan MacGregor in Star Wars.

Lost is well-written and acted. Heroes is not.
Lost has a long-term direction. Heroes does not.
Lost has interesting, well-balanced characters who play-off each other adequately. Heroes does not.
