Right then, from experience I've seen that you should never buy any technology without consulting those with the knowledge on here otherwise you'll end up paying too much/getting the wrong thing.

I want some speakers for my iPod that also sort of act as a dock (i.e. charge it while it's plugged in) ideally for about £30 but could stretch to about £50 - don't want to spend too much as I'm taking them travelling and there's every chance they could get bashed around a bit. They're not going to be replacing my music system, I'll only be using them for their portability (is that even a word?!) such as listening on the move, in the garden, in the bath etc.

I've noticed the Logic3 i-Station3 Docking Station and Speaker System for about £30 and it looks alright, just wondered if anyone had used it or could reccommend anything better?

Edit: Another criterium is that my 3rd gen iPod needs to be able to fit on them

Cheers

Klipsch make good stuff, cost you a bit more, though.  Well worth it in my opinion.

I might be completely mistaken, but I get the impression they're all s****.  This impression probably comes from the disgrace that is Bose and their ridiculously overpriced and horrible sounding stuff.

Would you not consider just putting the money towards a good amp that you could run a cable into?

Wha?  My quiet comfort 2 headphones are the s***.  Mind, I spent near $500 on them, but they're the best headphones out there in that price range.

In regards to the buying a solid amp and just using that as a docking station, I agree.  However, if your heart is set on getting one, go with Klipsch.  They're pretty darn good.

Seventh was the Shanling MC-30, a valve-powered amp with a built-in CD player.

Stuff said: "Hi-fi for the MP3 age, this valve-powered iPod throne that sounds as good as it looks."

It came 7th for this years must have gadgets, something like that.

That looks pretty cool..  I'd love to hear it and a comparable stereo amp that is just plugged in to the iPod.

Desperately seeking a GOOD FM Transmitter so the iPod can work well with my car. Been using Belkin for the past year and it sucks balls, the interference is terrible, especially downtown.

Guy Debord and the Aesthetics of Cine-Sabotage

Just as the projection was about to begin, Guy-Ernest Debord was supposed to step onto the stage and make a few introductory remarks. Had he done so, he would simply have said: 'There is no film. Cinema is dead. No more films are possible. If you wish, we can move on to a discussion.'
