Christ though, but the Police artist is a lazy bugger. 5 months, and that's the best he could come up with?

if accurate he should be easy to trace as there can't be many mouthless, noseless, eyeless adult males kicking about.

So they've used the fund to pay off two month's worth of their mortgage, around £4,000.

I'm cynical about a lot of things when it comes to the McCanns, but even I don't believe they set out to defraud the public by raising a charity fund to pay their mortgage. This is just down to the circumstances they find themselves in. Using the fund to pay their mortgage is a terrible lapse of judgement on their part, it is crass, but I don't believe they set up this whole tragic saga just to pay off their mortgage.

well if he'd gone back to work earlier they wouldn't have needed the money
mind I'm surprised they didn't ask their mortgage company for a break - I can't imagine anyone saying no..........

The fookin press are trying to destroy them and tbh we are all taken in by it ,I for one hope the truth comes out about the kids fate so this media circus can finish and the family can get on with there lives and if the truth is they had nothing to do with her disapearance certain reporters should hang there heads in shame not that they have any to start with .The total lack of proper information that we know of and the speculation of the tabloids with made up storys with no substance make our press an embarresment tbh.

You don't think actions like using money which has been donated to help them find their daughter to pay off the mortgage isn't making people think more negative of them than any press article?

You don't think actions like using money which has been donated to help them find their daughter to pay off the mortgage isn't making people think more negative of them than any press article? What would you do in the same situation? Have you got enough empathetic power to imagine what it is like? Are you incapable of imagining you making a mistake in the same situation? (a mistake from a PR perspective only in retrospect since if Maddy had been found during this period, no one would give a s***. In fact no one would give a s*** if the press didnt bang on about every minute move). You both have stopped work to find your daughter and you are not a suspect in the case yet. People who donated that money did so to help the family. How they spend it is up to them, not you imo. There is no book entitled "Rules for panic-stricken parents accepting donations in desperate bid to find mis-placed children". Well there is actually, its currently being written by our gutter press and our general public and I'd rather not listen to either of their judgements as i think they are both full of s***. Imo of course. I'm with Biggsy on this.

Well the alleged 'wall of silence' from thier friends who were on holiday with them hasn't helped.

https://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,91210-1291036,00.htmlMagazine Blasted Over Madeleine Mockery Updated:20:32, Wednesday October 31, 2007 Kate and Gerry McCann have blasted a German satirical magazine's "extremely hurtful" article on the publicity surrounding their daughter's disappearance. The Titanic published a double-page spread in the form of a supermarket advert, depicting a number of products promoted with Madeleine's image. One is for a domestic cleaner guaranteed to remove "all traces at home and against which DNA tests have no chance". Another is for a popular brand of soup flavouring called Maggi renamed after Madeleine. And one promotion is for a brand of chocolate with the usual childish face replaced by that of the young girl, who vanished in Portugal. It suggests that 1% of every sale will be donated to Interpol. The McCann's spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: "This is not only extremely hurtful to Kate and Gerry but totally disrespectful to Madeleine." Magazine's article "extremely hurtful" The magazine had not sought permission to use Madeleine's image and the McCanns' lawyers were now studying the publication, Mr Mitchell said. But Titanic editor Oliver Nagel defended the feature, saying it was not a criticism of the McCanns and it was meant solely for a German audience. Over the spread the magazine says Madeleine "has become the most famous face in the world and probably the universe" and that it is a logical next step that her image be used for product promotion. Mr Nagel added: "I would not say anything. We don't go round apologising for the articles we are printing. "We are not making fun of a child getting lost but we are making fun of the media blowing it all up to such a good height." The controversy came as it was reported Kate and Gerry McCann will not face new police interviews unless detectives can produce more evidence against them.
