Pujols is a true great.  No drugs, just a great player and the game benefits from having him involved.  Hope he stays with the Cards as opposed to going elsewhere.

The Sox are on fire. 6-0, mid third. Diasuke just hit a two-run single in his sixth EVER at-bat in the Majors. Laughing

I went to bed at 6-0 last night, checked the web and they walked it again. So many runs in the post-season.

They built an amazing squad, and they're only going to get better. They stink of a dynasty.

I'm foaming at the mouth typing this.

Laughing

Last night they were on about A-Rod going there too. Said he wouldn't as Varitek hates him, but still. Drool.

As far as A-rod is concerned... f*** that guy. He spent an entire season playing well, fooled us all. We really thought it was going to be different this time around, and as soon as the playoffs started, bam, he's s***.

And after all that, after the book on his postseason play is written and official, this guy wants a raise!

As for him going to Boston, great! Every team he leaves does amazingly well afterwards. Go to Boston and be the stick in the mud that you are.

Of course, with my luck, he'll go there and win a ring for each finger.

Yankees fan then...

Would you have even got to the post-season without him though?

What do you think about the managerial situation? I don't know any of the candidates (or anyone, really), but it seemed pretty harsh on Torre to me.

Yeah, Yankee fan.

I'd rather flame out in the regular season than go to the post season and spend evenings staring at my TV in disbelief. See, in football, when your team doesn't care, (see yesterday) you sit there for 90 minutes, and you take it.

In Baseball, if your team doesn't care, you're looking at about a week of 4 1/2 hours of punishment every other night. I can't describe how brutal it is.

The Joe Torre situation was as disgraceful as anything I've had the misfortune to see in my sports life. It's an indication that the team places no emphasis on loyalty whatsoever. It's got to be a hell of a thing to make me wish misfortune on my own team.

Sox win the Series, A-Rod opts out of his contract, and later in the day I'll probably learn that Mattingly is the next coach.

I can't believe it, but Newcastle United is now the only well run team that I support.

Papelbon probably should have been the MVP of the series, he was that good in every single game he played, and had a few clutch saves (Games 2 and 4).

2nd time in 4 years. Also 2nd time in 86 years Laughing the first definitely sounds better.

The team will most probably stay the same as well. Schilling has said many times on SoSH that he wants to stay and is looking only for a one year deal so the Sox FO will no doubt let him stay. There's no other free agent pitcher who has the combination of postseason experience, will put up an ERA around 4 and only wants a one year deal. Lowell will be resigned as well though I can see a Damon and Pedro situation happening if the other teams (such as the Yankees who now don't have a 3B) starts waving the green bills and gives him the years. Anyway, what's most important is that the Sox will contend again Big Grin

Rick Sutcliffe was saying this exact same thing last night, you won't be pleased to hear.
