Vic Ian Paisley will be the first minister of Northern Ireland not Gerry Adams, he will obviously have a massive say but he is hardly gonna insist in mass murdering or insist in building IRA training camps. It was Gerry Adams who spearheaded the decomishining of the IRA, who didnt stall on any power sharing agreement, who not too far off half the voters in this country trust with the responsibilities he now has. Im not a supporter of him as like i said i didnt vote, but i will mention what good he has done, no one forgets who he is.

yet you seem to forget all these 'good things' he has supposedly done are as result of one f*** off big big bad thing

If I kicked you in the nuts, but then brought you some ice, is that a 'good thing' in your mind?

The man always was and always will be a politician when it suits him.

Christ he has a hell of a lot of voter 'representation' to make up for considering he never even took up his elected seat

Where did i say i was thanking him? regardless of weither he ran the IRA he still got rid, if he hadnt of got rid there wouldnt be any power sharing and thats what im saying, he has taken good steps towards getting to todays agreement, i havent forgiven him for his past or anything Vic dont worry. Paisley wanted Sinn Fein to disband the IRA and to agree to Policing and they did both, two things Adams did to get to today, two big steps done by Adams and Sinn Fein, those were two good things and that is my point, no ones forgiving anyone but no one is also saying that agreeing to Policing and disbanding the IRA are bad things because they certainly arnt.

Also what exactly am i forgetting? the exsistance of the IRA and its apparent members? dont be daft.

It's good to see Paisley finally acting like a grown up.  Sinn Fein have been comitted to the terms of the Good Friday Agreement from the outset and the IRA, however despicable people may find them, have done everything asked of them under the GFA and more.  It's a pity that opinion has become so polarised that the two most "extreme" parties enjoy most support but it's good to see them sitting down together and talking.  Power sharing is the only workable way forward so they're just gonna have to learn to get along, regardless of how much they dislike eachother.  Let's just hope that Paisley is prepared to embrace the concept of pragmatic leadership.
