Before I start this I'd like to say I like Glenn Roeder and have no wish to see him leave the club, however:

Is anyone else concerned about his role at the club in terms of what he tells the press, more importantly regarding transfers?

We've been through 3 transfer windows with Roeder now and each one has followed an identical and totally frustrating pattern - what concerns me most is that he's started spouting the same platitudes about the NEXT window.
Not to get too in depth regarding each window but basically he starts with "we'll be looking to bring in 5-6/3-4 new players this window" and then as time goes by and players move to other clubs he whittles down his 'requirements' accordingly as each day goes by.  Correct me if I'm wrong but we started in January looking to bring in 3 players on permanent deals, it was then reduced to maybe 2 loan deals and ended up being one loan deal.

My question is this:  1, Is he an idiot who can't keep his mouth shut and thus makes stupid statements during each window?  2, Is he a liar, plane and simple?  3, Is he a yes man for the fat controller (ties in with #2 really)? 4, Or is he, in fact, a genius who is continually succeeding in maintaining our expectations regarding transfer activity all the while knowing nothing is gonna happen (ties in with #2 & #3)?

Bear in mind that he's already publicly 'admitted' he's watched and wants to sign Gareth Bale, Curtis Davies (2 players I'd be surprised if we could attract ahead of certain other clubs and 2 players that would take our FULL budget and more to get) and also Giles Barnes (allegedly already Spurs-bound if not staying at Derby if they get up!!).  We now also have a "new" policy that we'll be signing 25's and under this coming window - does anyone believe any of it?

Anyone think that on 1st September 2007 we'll have spaffed the usual 15m on 2 Hollywood players and have another 30+  Sibierski on the books and the usual imbalanced squad?

Get used to it mate, this is how he responds to everyone.  If ONE person on a forum says a particular thing, then every other person that he has an argument with gets accused of saying it.  It makes it easier for him to win arguments if he attributes ridiculous statements to people and then just argues counter to them, rather than actually addressing the points someone has made.

He's been doing it on here for years.

HTL is such a hypocritical pillock.  Has a go at all and sundry for immaturity, abuse, and not responding to people's posts with a worthwhile contribution.  He then goes on to act like a 5 year old, abuse people (not necessarily in this thread btw, before he starts), and post stupid responses to people's attempts at worthwhile contributions to the forum.  You wouldn't mind so much if he did it with even the slightest bit of humour or was in any way entertaining, but it's just the same dull old s**** day after day.  A very boring man.
