Decent player. Probably benefited from Shearer as much as Shearer benefited from him. He is a Grade A arsehole. Not coming back here hopefully. The 'welcome' he would get might not be as friendly as he may expect it to be, the delusional knob.

Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy wants to make a sensational return to Newcastle United.
The Daily Mail says the Wales striker believes an audacious return to Newcastle could be on this summer with Mike Ashley set to take control of the club and Sam Allardyce installed as new manager.
Bellamy has told friends he would relish another chance at Newcastle although the £9m fee and Mark Viduka's switch to St James' Park could have put paid to his dreams. The strangest thing about that article is Bellamy has friends.

Heard some of his best football was at Celtic when we loaned him to them. Fans up there were absolutely raving about him.

To be fair though, they raved about Alan Thompson who did very little down here, and their skipper last season was Neil Lennon who was close to joining Wycombe Wanderers last week.

Thommo played up there in his prime & he did well at Bolton. That Viduka lad has done okay in the EPL. The Italian fella who pushed a ref was okay & the dutch bloke who went on strike at Forest was decent.

7 in 11 i think it was. Against the likes of Clyde and Falkirk though, tbf. Bellamy's a class above the Scottish league.

Genuinely think he played the best football of his career when he was here. His movement and pace meant Shearer had a bit more time and space to do his thing and, although they didn't get on at all, Shearer benefited because of Bellamy.
He was one of the main reasons we, as a club, saw Champions League football and finished 4th, 3rd and 5th - along with Robert. The 2 of them dragged us 7 places up the league and I'll always be grateful to them for that. They both have their faults mind. Both, in my opinion, were totally mismanaged by Souness and forced out of the club by a bloke who just didn't have the skills to manage them anywhere near properly. He couldn't deal with them so he sold them. For a fraction of their actual value.
Not meaning to drag up arguments from years ago but we could do a lot worse than re-sign Bellamy but the obvious caveats apply. If he's still a f****** arsehole off the pitch then no, if he's matured a bit then yes.
Spot on mate... Anyone who says NUFC was better after getting rid of Robert and Bellamy should be admitted to psychiatric hospital...We saw Champions League football because of the above two...

We don't need Bellamy back really. Hopefully we keep Owen and Martins. I loved Bellamy when he was here, but we can do without his s*** off the pitch.

Wouldn't be overly excited if we got Bellamy back, as it would surely mean the end for either Owen or Martins.
Owen is in another league to Bellamy as a player, while Martins I think will be a better player than Bellamy within a couple of years.

SBR or not, when Bellamy and Robert were absent that season we looked a different team and not for the better Obviously, considering they were two of our better players at the time. Same would apply to absolutely any team.

We did, Bellamy and Robert transformed us from a hard-working half-solid unit to a team with real penetration.

We seen last season how different Man Utd looked when they lost Scholes with an eye injury, also this season when Chelsea lost Cech and Terry.

Say you take out Rooney and Carrick then, I'm sure Man U would struggle still. Not denying Robert and Bellamy were very important to us, but they were hardly our two stand-out players or anything. If we took out Shearer and Solano during the same period we'd have not looked the same team either.

Aye, but without a solid team around him that allowed Robert to go missing for long periods he'd never have gotten so many assists/goals either.

I would say Ferdinand is also massively important to them, he gets some stick but he is a top class defender and is one of the main parts of a very solid defence.

In the Union Rooms the other day watching the England game, there was a bloke who was telling his mates that Rio makes as many mistakes as Bramble and that Ferguson wasn't a great manager because he'd paid £14m for Djemba-Djemba.
I despair with some people.
