Can anybody give me some advice on Linux, is it easy to use? can you use it on sites that require internet explorer or Firefox? if you can't are there downloads you can use to help you? I've been thinking about changing from Microsoft to Linux but I absolutely know nothing about it or should I stay with Windows XP?.

Download a Linux Live CD, a Linux that runs entirely from the CD and requires no partitioning, formatting etc. You still have Windows, and you have Linux whenever you insert the CD, it's useful for a try out to see if you like it.

Examples:

https://www.knoppix.net/about.php
https://www.ubuntu.com/desktop
https://kanotix.com/index.php?&newlang=eng

Or choose from this list:

It's easy to use until you get a problem.

Some good problems: Getting a Logitech mouse to work properly, getting Belkin Wireless cards to work.

Linux is cool for five minutes, but it never takes too long until you're missing Windows (in my experience, anyway).  I've got an XP/Ubuntu dual boot system but I can't remember the last time I used Ubuntu.

...edit

In fact, based on this thread and my post, I've just gotten rid of Ubuntu and I can't say that I'll miss it Smile

Yeah I have the same problem with Belkin, you have to trawl through forums to get advice, only to find out that it doesn't solve the problem and you have to find a compatible card...which is also another problem.
