Also heartening, was Nobby and Bellers at half-time.

Whassat?

Just being generally pally and joking around. They did it during matchplay, too.

Thought Bellamy behaved pretty decently throughout.

Why were we wearing black armbands?

Out of respect to Anna Nicolle Smith apparently.

Still haven't seen the penalty incident. Missed it during the coverage. Taylor being the one involved isn' t filling me with confidence though {$default_sad_smiley}

Newcastle,f****** hell..

U never know what your going to get next..

Anyway,my ratings for todays game :-

Harper,8 : The Bellamy goal was his fault, but made some fine stops and catchs that kept us in it

Babayaro,6: Fairly average, was better then usual though

Gooch,7 : its true what they said about him winning every ball in the air, fine peformence

Bramble,6: Made few mistakes but didnt get punished for them..

Taylor 7,: Nice peformence as a makeshift Right back, won us the penalty

Parker,8: My MOTM,superb peformence from the skipper

Butt,7: Fairly good

Milner,7: Looked far better then Duff in the left hand side

Solano,7: Good peformence,well taken penalty

Martins,8: Worked hard for his first, did well today

Dyer,7: Looked tired, still managed to be a threat on Liverpool's defence

Subs:

Duff,6: Not enough time,Did some good time wasting though
Sibreski,6: Some fine Tackles..

Overall team peformence,8.5: Very good home peformence,as a team we looked capable of causing threat and defending well, got to hand it to Roeder he really played his cards well today.

So was it a penalty then?

In my eyes? Yes. I'm biased of course, but Riise definitely caught Taylor and aside from that episode against Villa a few years back Taylor isn't the guy to dive or do anything like that. And to his credit he got straight up after the challenge too.

It was a penalty, Taylor did make the most of it like, but it was a foul.

Mel, to say Taylor isn't the type of player to take a dive is laughable though, dying swan x2, etc.

Come on then the Roeder out possee?

Changed your fickle tune yet?
So it was someone else that didnt sign any full backs then ?
Someone else who dropped Nobby for Carr ?
Someone else who made a mess of two transfer deadlines ?
(Better that than waste untold millions like Souness, mind)

But - whats your problem of praise when its due and criticism when its due ?

Good result. I wasn`t at the match and i`m not going to form my opinions like some on here from radio commentry and a dodgey stream. I hope we are Match of the day on sky later.   I wonder how Micheal Owen felt, mixed feelings  I guess. I sent a message to Bramble " Do the business on Mickeys team" .   {$default_grin_smiley}

100% defo a pen... TV replays showed definate contact, Riise knew it was a pen...

Taylor didnt make the most of it, and he was basically back up and on the ball, before it had been given.

Fantastic result. Didn't see the game so won't cast my views on performance. Would like to hear a little bit more of an accurate view on Goochs performance and what do people think of Martins?

12 goals is bloody good with so many games still to play. I suspect he will get a few in europe when we return. Certainly looking like a good signing. Is 12 more than that off any Liverpool strikers?

Gooch looked solid, in a shambolic defence (in the first half)

Put him with Taylor in the middle, and build on that for next season....
RB and LB still needed.
