Any idea of the bench? Where's Zoggy? Did Sam not see how poor we were offensively when we didn't have anyone driving at the other team on Monday night? f****** hell, seems like he's looking for a 1-0, instead of actually going out and playing.

Though this should probably go in the thread, these are the kind of games which will decide whether Sam stays here for a while or not. Most of us don't seem to expect to get much from games against the top 4, so it's 'okay' if we get dominated and lose - we're all frustrated (like we were against Arsenal) but we seem to know that we were up against a better team. However, when we're up against teams like Reading, Derby, and Boro away and we go out defensively, Sam will get criticized to f*** because we all know how that's not our speciality. If we at least attack and play football, at least Sam will have that even if we don't get any points. He needs to improve the football that we play away from home.

Have you ever stopped to open your mind a little and think, "hey, maybe zoggy is unfit today... and hey, maybe there is a very valid reason for leaving Milner out". Maybe this is in fact the best midfield we can put out today.

And tbh, Barton and Emre will drive at Reading.

Not often I get it right but........

Given
Beye Faye Capaca Enrique
Geremi Butt Barton Emre
Owen Martins

subs Harper Roz Zog Milner Smith

Feel we need the experience in midfield away from home at the expense of natural width.

Harper
Rozehnal
Milner
Zog
Smith

Good bench imo.

Gives options, can go to a flat 4-4-2 (Milner and Zog), big man up to staying 4-4-2 or swap to a 4-3-3.

Also got defenisve cover in midfield and back four with Roz

And best of all. No Ameobi!

Can't be arsed to start a new thread for this, 5 Live Extra today - Stock v Bristol City (or the other way round).

WTF!

Chelsea Citeh on 5 Live I can understand, buts there's plenty of other decent premier league games to stick on extra!

A 4-3-3 today, yeah?  Geremi- Butt - Barton in midfield. Emre - Owen - Martins up front (ish).

I certainly think that's the best way of using Emre.

Did Jeff Stelling just say we were having our best start ever to a premier league season??!!

Bonus though, Kammy is doing our game!

To Ameobi or not to Ameobi, that is the question.

Midfield diamond tbh.

If so I hope Emre is at the top of the diamond to encourage him to stay further forward which he doesn't usually do.

Midfield diamond tbh.

Agree. Posted further up Smile

It could work but its asking for a very high workrate from the fullbacks.

All that would prove is that he doesn't have the right attitude to become a great player. If he has anything about him, he should knuckle down and push the others as far as he can.

At the moment, he is nowhere near the calibre of Faye, Cacapa and Roz.

Think so too.

If he had anything about him he would realise that its one step back to take 2 forward.

He's probably had too much football for his age and position and too much responsibility/standing due to the rubbish he has played with.

Squad player is where he should be at this stage in his career, ready to kick on next season onwards

the inspiration behind my name has just said "Noocarsuw to win 2-1"

EDIT: and I'm not saying Taylor should be in the team, far from it.  It's just worrying that he will adopt the wrong attitude and want away because he's not the first defender on the team sheet.  I'm desperate for him to become a legend for us, with him being a local lad, and not to spit his dummy out and ask to be sold.

Hopefully Sam has explained the situation and reasoning behind it, and even more so, hopefully Taylor will have understood this
