Run/ Type in cmd
MS Dos windows appears then goes again whats wrong??

Control Panel > System > Advanced tab > Environment Variables. Make sure
that the system variable 'Path' starts with "C:\WINDOWS\system32;".
Otherwise sounds like you may have spyware of some sort on your machine which has taken over the role of cmd.exe. If you type in the run box C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe does the box stay open ?
