I seen Red Eye. It was pretty good bar the bad guy turning into a complete weed at the end. Stupid Hollywood.

Just finished watching Advent Children. I expected it to be a dud, I found it to be very good.

Yeah, I've still got that to watch, got rave nerd-reviews.  What did you get, xvid with fansubs?

Watched Skeleton Key the other night, wasn't bad, better than I thought it would be.  I'd say it scored a respectable 7, which is pretty damn good on my cynical movie-scale.

Yeah, I got the ed2k link for the file from AniDB, fansubs were by a group called ASource (AnimeSource), found them to be fine. Actually, no, it's an .mkv file, which will make it that little bit more time consuming to encode bluewink.gif

Ah, right.  Got the film and a subpack from irc, not sure who did it, think it's just credited to some guy.

Just watched Harvey for the first time and it's pushing for a place in my top ten.  I'll have to give it another few goes and see if it cements itself in there but it sums up my entire ethos.  I'm still grinning from ear to ear.

Watched The Ladykillers(1955) before that.  Seen it loads before like.  I just love watching Katie Johnson play "Mrs Lopsided".  She's brilliant.  Deserves to go in the funniest performance thread really.

Aye.

I just finished reading Easy Riders, Raging Bulls (great book btw) and having seen none of his films I was compelled to order all Bob Rafelsons DVDs, luckily I noticed this in the listings before placing my order.

Might tape it and go to bed like.

Ok then, just about the only film related topic left is:

Best line of dialogue  in a film.

To start you off how about:

The Prez: Gentlemen please, no fighting in the war room.

Probably not the best but good.

Saw Howl's Moving Castle yesterday. Dubbed version too blueeek.gif. I'm reserving judgement until I see the subbed version, waiting for the 'usual' sources to become available. However, I did quite enjoy it overall, even if it was dubbed. Doesn't seem to be vintage Miyazaki, but still very good.

Monday I saw Land Of The Dead. This film had a lot of potential, but turned out to be rather average. Still entertaining enough though.

I'll probably see Goal! either tomorrow or Saturday, heard mixed reviews on it so I'll wait and see.

I watched Sin City recently and surprisingly, it a wicked film!  I've never read any of the comics and thought the film was gunna be like "batman" style but f**k me, this film was dark man!  loads of extreme violence and some good dark humour in it!  If most of the film wasn't in black and white, then the film would have been banned for the violence!  Class film though, one of the better ones I've seen this year!  Yes

Saw Deep Blue the other day - lots of impressive shots of fish and dolphins and whales and sharks. Wonder if HTT saw it?

Saw GOAL! Thought it was dissappointing overall, but I thought the club and the city were quite well represented for the majority of the film.

NUFC ratings based on all-time NUFC form.

Ashley - 7, Mort - 6
Allardyce - 6
Given - 7.5, Harper - 6.5, Krul - 5.1
Carr - 2, Beye - 5, Taylor - 5.5, Rozehnal - 5.5, Cacapa - 6.5, Faye - 6, Ramage - 4, Edgar - 5, Babayaro - 2, Enrique - 5.5
Geremi - 5.5, Butt - 6, Emre - 5.5, Smith - 5, Barton - 5, Milner - 6.5, N'Zogbia - 7, Duff - 4.5, Pattison - 4.5
Owen - 6, Martins - 7, Viduka - 5.5, Ameobi - 6, Carroll - 5

Recent Changes:
Allardyce - Down 0.5 for poor away mentality.

N.B. New arrivals start at 5, recent performances carry stronger weighting, and lengthly spells on the sideline injured can reduce rating.

Finally got around to watching Goal!, if it hadn't been for the fact it's centred on Newcastle I'd have thought this to be one of the worst films I've seen recently. Speaking purely as a fan though, I quite enjoyed it.

I just saw Serenity and would recommend it especially if you liked the TV show "Firefly" from whence it came.

Out of sheer boredom I watched the following films last night, Robocop 1, Predator 1 and Oldboy (but I fell asleep half way through).

Tonight, since there's nowt on the box I might watch all the big lebowski and then either Raiders of the lost ark or back to the future 1. Unless I get diverted by the pub after work.
