well i think the video describes whats an emo kid pretty well. its basically very very pansy annoying kids who like to bitch about the dumbest things and like to pretend their life is terrible. they also tend to cry alot. the music is very different from goth. umm panic at the disco or my chemical romance would be considered as emo, nightwish, tristania, within temptation would be considered goth... biiiiig difference (if anyone knows the bands)

No, goths are still goths. Emo kids are the ones who spend a lot of time on their fringes, often have facial/extravagant ear piercings, listen to Death Cab For Cutie-type music, and have a reputation for being somewhat morose/suffering existential guilt/navel-gazey.
HERE IS AN IMPORTANT FACT:
Like many other terms, Emo has become a catch-it-all term that has been perverted and misused and now the misuse is all-pervasive and has replaced the original term. The birth of Emo came about in the mid-80s with bands such as Rites of Spring and Mission of Burma who put a more melodic edge upon the hardcore music of the day, and often sounded quite angsty. Emo gradually became applied to any mopey music and any of the people who listen to it; which really couldn't be further from the truth. Really, it doesn't mean anything now. I know all this because I am a musical historian and know pretty much everything about everything musical.

I think Goashem is up in Canada... so I'll clarify it as "North American" before things get ugly and he (as well as the other Canuck mags) start making threats and get all huffy. Emo is kinda like Goth 2.0 Goth is more of the Victorian old skool 80's stuff whereas Emo is less Bauhaus and more Bright Eyes. Its pussy effeminate crap really and is really just a sub-set of Goth, but most "emo kids" don't know what goths are nor would they necessarily identify as "emo" as that is more commonly referred to in music where there is a whiny skinny boy singing about what a loser he is. Imagine if Wullie were in a band... bluebiggrin.gif

Yeah, jungle birds are great mimics. We have a parrot who causes much distress/amusement by calling various people's names throughout the house.
