Not sure if they are signed, saw them in Glasgow, not bad at all.

Great move by Levein, changed his formation and put on that guy upfront and they come back to win 3-2, quality stuff.
4  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: Danny Murphy on: January 08, 2006, 08:19:34 PM
Anyone who was at the Middleborough game could not say that Faye has been OK lately. He is simply not good enough for NUFC. Look at Scott Brown or Kevin Thomson at Hibernian if you want a quality midfielder with a great engine , can tackle and above all pass the ball to a team mate. They would not cost much but first get rid of the real problem at SJP ..... Souness

Yep Scott Brown and Thomson are class, would cost no more than 500k - 800k each young and bags of potential. The fact that Chelsea are linking up with Hibs show how good their youth system is at the moment, our scouts should be getting season tickets at easter road.

Is he a proper player?
7  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: Could have had Chris Sutton...... on: January 05, 2006, 01:36:45 PM
Hes basically the same as shearer now, still alright at doing the dirtywork, winning headers, niggling at the defenders etc but seems to have lost his mobility with age and is now not nearly as effective. About 2-3 years ago though he was amazing, ripping it up in the chamipions league and uefa, class class player.
8  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: the official NO TO BIG SAM thread on: January 05, 2006, 12:26:55 AM
I think big Sam would get us top 6 but is he really a manager the likes of Luque, Emre, Owen etc are gonna look up to and want to do well for? I'm not saying Souness is but with the players we have then surely a big name is required or a good foreign manager that the players will want to do well for. Hitzfield was approached by Hearts, surely we can approach him, if he says no then go for Le'Guen then if he turns us down then look at the next batch down of managers that will carry us until the inevitable Shearer appointment at some stage. The thing I really dont like about big Sam is that f**king earpiece he always uses, dunno why but it pisses me right off.
9  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: Souness on the brink! on: January 04, 2006, 10:12:22 AM
To me Big Sam doesnt seem like a very likely appointment...Bolton are doing well as has been said previously he loves the club and has nothing to do with ours. I cant see us getting someone currently employed in the premiership at the moment, I would quite like Mark Hughes but hes not gonna leave Blackburn either. Best choice for me is caretaker and get O'Neil to agree to come in when hes available - hopefully end of season. Either that or Le Guen who i think would definately take the job.
10  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: Do you like souness as our manager on: December 22, 2005, 04:42:57 PM
Good transfers, respect the guy and think in general hes a good guy, poor tactician, poor organiser, good motivator but at the end of the day is he the man to take us to the next step woth these great players? 90% of me says no, 100% of me would love to see him succeed though.

12  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: Robbie Neilson on: December 09, 2005, 01:14:37 PM
He's a right back that's playing in that very good hearts team that Burley had going quite well, nothing really that great tbh, very solid, hard to really envisage what he would be like in the premiership. Theres better hearts players than him, Webster is good, so is Bednar.
13  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: Would you have Fergie? on: December 08, 2005, 03:23:31 PM
Watched an interview last night after the game on sky sports, he was rambling on for 15 minutes solid just talking utter pish really, dont think he will manage another big club doesnt have the desire or need to. If anything he will be Scotland manager someday but not our manager ever.
14  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: Tunkay Sanli on: December 07, 2005, 11:45:24 AM
would he not cost £10mil +?? Thought he was a very highly regarded youngster surely we cant afford that come Jan?
15  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: Given's contract. on: December 06, 2005, 11:32:42 AM
Given's probably waiting to see what happens, if i was him I'd do the same, the guys approaching 30, hes worked to become one of the best keepers in the world...wherever he may go he will have my full backing as he deserves success. Really really hope he stays with us though...
16  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: Who do we (Newcastle-Online.com) back? on: December 05, 2005, 08:57:48 PM
O'Neil because with the calibre of players that we have combined with the amount of passion and commitment he gets out of players every time is surely a winning formula, I dunno if Hitzfield would join us but he would be my 2nd choice just because of his reputation and proven track record.
17  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: Axe set to fall on Souness. on: December 05, 2005, 11:29:44 AM
The backlash should be along the lines of get the board booted out asap if Bruce is appointed, a lot easier said than done though.
18  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: OUR Choice on: December 05, 2005, 10:23:54 AM
I think possibilities are:

Big Sam - Yes, why not   - hmmm maybe
O'Leary - Please, no, but better than what we have at the moment No not a chance
Le Guen - BRING HIM ON Yes in theory, might take a while to adapt to the premiership though
Bruce -  Hell NO! 'This is the end'?
Hitzfeld - Could be a possibility, the best available. Would be incredible but is it realistic?
O'Neill - Would be an improvement. MON For Manager!

I would rather go with continential manager, but as for British ones, O'Neill and Big Sam are the best ones.

Thats my views on them.
