The Oliver article looks like the excuses are being made early.
Thought the same myself when i read it. Simply too many shades of last summer in those Roeder quotes. Basically:
1. Theres not may players availaible 2. We havent got loads of cash 3. We're not that an attractive proposition anymore compared to our buying rivals. 4. Clubs have got us over a barrel as they know we're desperate. |

I love it when journeymen like him who were average mid-table players at best have a go at someone who's 22, played for Inter, and scored 9 goals in 22 since coming. It's like John Anderson with Babayaro.
I think a few fans of 1970s Newcastle would say John Tudor was better than average! |

He's didnt say clueless, did he?
I read that today, and all he said is he needs the right coaching.
Yeah, Tudor says "he can look clueless at times." |

I see John Tudor gives an opinion on Oba Martins in tonights Chronicle, where the crux is that he has lots of raw ability but hasn't a clue how to play team football. I think this is pretty much spot on. When Oba is provided with the ball to feet, he has shown he can be pretty lethal. However when it comes to making runs and moving off the ball, he still has a lot to learn. An example came in the last ten minutes of the Man Utd game. Newcastle broke up an attack with Dyer carrying the ball over half way and Martins and Sibierski running up slightly infornt. The problem was, Oba just ran straight behind his marker making the ball to him a non starter. There was no attempt to make any diagonal run or maybe to pull his marker away to free up space. Needless to say with no options available, Dyer lost possession.
I think Oba has a lot to learn about being the real deal at Newcastle. He has shown good potential but only top class coaching and tuition will take him to the next level. I just wonder whether he can learn that from Roeder, Terry Mac, Pearson and Clarkie. |

Noticed that Ugo Ehiogu's loan spell at Leeds was finished early yesterday. I wonder if there'll be any Premiership teams in for him. I think its going to be slim pickings this January and this could be the sort of calibre of player who is available, without paying big money.
As opposed to playing big money which was strictly a Family Fortunes thing. |

Just been on Talksport on the way home, they said Roma officials said the deal was loan with a view to a permanent deal.
Could be a canny buy. |

Anyone got any?
Here is one:
Bend It Like Collymore
In a follow up to the 'hit' film Bend It Like Beckham, Jules (Keira Knightley) quits from her ladies football team after her falling out with team members in the previous film and moves to Birmingham. Deciding to join the thriving porno industry, she meets fellow porn star Stan Collymore famed for his skill in the box.
Thats less a silly idea for a film and more one of your twisted fantasies tbh. |

| Yeah thats right. Despite the acting being great in it only the actors who played Egg and Miles went on to bigger things. Most of the others havent been seen since. |

I would say so. Although its kind of like a catch up with the charcters after series 2 finished on a cliffhanger. For what its worth,
Egg discovered his boring girlfriend Milly had been having an affair with her boss O'Donnell. He discovered this at Miles'wedding who was getting hitched depsite him and Anna (their love hate relationship being the centre of the whole show) having the hots for each other. Warren the welsh poofter returned after a series away to discover a punch up at the wedding. His sister Keira was a receptionist at the offices where the others worked. Jo was another lawyer pal of theirs who was loaded and didnt live with the others. Ferdy joined the house in series 2 and was a courier and another collar and cuff. |
