1  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: If we got offered our money back on Owen would you take it? on: January 15, 2006, 08:30:28 AM
to be honest, it bothers me that he would want away when hes nearly nothing to help our plight. yes, hes help us win some games hes played. but the fact that he cant stay fit doesnt exactly make me think hes put in his all and is leaving b/c he worked his arse off for the entire season and we just couldnt do it.

hes got that big fat contract, i hope to god he honors it and stays fit...his talent and professionalism are almost unmatched by any other, i just hope he shows that in the black and white shirt, bangin in the goals for us.
2  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: *NEW SVEN REVELATIONS* on: January 15, 2006, 08:22:27 AM
i posted this in the other one, but ill it here as well..

first off, i think sven is a complete idiot...arrogant prick telling some guy his plans and all these rumors, he should know not to speak like this anyway...

regarding owen....
owen isnt happy? hell im not happy, hes played in like 10 matches for us the entire season.  He seems so damn delicate, always getting hurt.

id be well angry if he up and left in the summer. why? b/c he has told us a million times he likes it here, and the papers always seem to say otherwise...maybe hes unhappy at newcastle b/c hes injured and wants to prove his worth to us? probably not.  but seriously though, he really has no room to talk, even with all that talent, if he cant put in a run of games without being hurt or taken off for such little injuries, how can he justify that hes put his best foot forward for our team? ah well, again this is some of that sad gloomy crap we get ourselves into with this current dark time for the club

7  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: Luque committed to Magpies fight on: January 06, 2006, 04:21:06 PM
luque may have been offside against middlesborough way too much, but when was the last time we have seen cross-field movement and runs from someone on our side?  to be honest, and please correct me if im wrong, but i dont see owen making similar runs across field ALL THE TIME.  Bellamy may have been the last player we had who was constantly running horizontal before jumping onto the end of a ball.   his movement was great, offside (haha) but great.  he will get better and he will time it better, that comes with practice and learning the lads.  put someone like emre in there to put in those passes and he'll get them earlier before he steps off.

luque has not 1 time mentioned he wants a place in the team so he can play in the world cup this summer, he's kept his mind on getting the job done here first.  that speaks miles about the type of guy we have here.

10  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: Hasselbainks goal "celebration" on: January 03, 2006, 12:40:03 AM
i dont think he looked disgusted...

i think he was like "wow, i cant believe that just happened" im sure, he is stressed as hell.  more like "jesus, i cant believe clarky scored" than "fk we scored, i want to be out of here"
11  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: Albert Luque: Get Me Out Of Here - I'm A Footballer on: January 02, 2006, 07:13:31 PM

12  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: Parker still in with a world cup shout..? on: January 02, 2006, 03:37:10 AM
There's no sense in playing King in that role when he rarely plays that position for his club and he's fairly average at it when he does.  Holding MF should go to Carrick who is head and shoulders the best Englishman in that position, Parker should be an automatic in the squad as backup to Lampard and Gerrard, just as King should be automatic as cover for the defensive areas.

dont agree with you...while carrick can pass like a champ, i dont think he has the tackle or battle like parker.  i think england should put gerrard and lampard as attacking midfielders and let beckham and parker play in the middle...didnt beckham do well in the middle when he was with an defensive midfielder?

i think its tough that beckham, lampard and gerrard are all guarenteed their spots and they have to try and fit someone else in...

15  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: Tim Krul on: January 01, 2006, 05:12:54 PM
isnt harper better at commanding the box better than given? but given is the better shot blocker?

i remember hearing/reading something saying harper is better at commanding the box and picking off crosses...but given was much better in shot blocking.

Howaythelads, im not trying to pick you out, im just curious...

is robbie keane really that bad? i mean hes got pace, eye for the goal, wonderful control...was today just him at his best and will never regain that? i saw great movement and i was worried everytime he had the ball...he was always their biggest threat and hes great at stretching teams...

i think he would be a great signing for any squad, closest to what bellamy did for us in my opinion.

but i guess im saying i dont agree with you,  i think that he would be an excellent squad player for newcastle looking to push for the starting 11.

alrightg man, i understand your point now.

i think keane and owen could do some damage up front, but who knows with owen and his damn injuries all the time. anyone else ever get the feeling whenever they see him get hit or tackled "i hope he doesnt get hurt" or "get up owen"...hes fragile, like emre.

sigh, i just get more and more frustrated after watching this team play. the arsenal match was amazing, so much passion and heart and then we go to merseyside and get rolled over and then spurs we get beat too. its frustrating...and sad. time to drink up on new years.
17  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: Who Should Replace Souness? on: December 31, 2005, 10:01:40 PM
have a trio of beardsley, shearer and robb lee! Just joking..

id love to see le guen or hitzfield...realistically though, martin o'neil would be my choice.

didnt souness deem robbie keane not good enough for our ambitions?

after watching that match he ran circles around our defence and was just a few stops off from getting 3 goals for his side.

keane would have cost us 5 million and we would have a pacy creative striker on our hands.

ah well.

we do tend to make even the worst players look good.
20  Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: NUFC Vs Arse Player Ratings on: December 10, 2005, 08:21:34 PM
i love how shearer played. made me so excited and angry at those arsenal players. time and itme again our players seem to get knocked on...its great to see the good ol' alan shearer defend his fortress...throwing down lauren was hilarious, and hey, when ur playing arsenal and you are alan shearer, you play with that cocky swagger, you play like its your house.  when fabregas pushed him, i laughed, fabregas is a little girl trying to stand up to shearer, shearer played with grit, determination, power, and strength. he put 100% in a performance - he made sure he went hard on challenges, he made sure it would be difficult to defend him.  we lose the ball, fine, but youll take a little beating whether you like it or not.

well done alan, get behind anyone in our team who plays with his heart on his shoulder. well done toon.
