England- Steer clear
Rather too dismissive of Owen, in my opinion. Depending on Sven's formation, Owen could have as good a chance as many & I think he's a proven performer, coming back from his injury just in time to peak in the latter stages of the tournament... |

Coming from someone with Fiddy in their avatar? EH???? I must be missing something... Not a particularly big fan of Fiddy - or his dancing - I just like how Titus Bramble's arse moves in time with Fiddy's head.
Anyway, as for Crouchie - decent goal & I actually enjoyed the robotics - definitely way funnier and more original than the 'baby' celebrations last night. I reserve the right to change my mind, however, when THE SUN starts printing 'how to do the robot' instructions in every World Cup edition and every England fan is constantly broadcast throughout the world trying to do that in Germany when they're pissed.
He's still a lanky mong, though. |

he's just simply a much better manager than Roeder and his record at various levels prove this. Levels which Roeder himself has had a fair crack at, too.
Exactly. People may like to think that O'Neill's reputation is pure 'media hype', but quite simply his managerial record versus that of Roeder speaks volumes. That's why we should care if he was offered the NUFC job or not... |

if he was truly as astounding as people make out, surely they wouldn't have gone down?
Stuart Pearce (In his prime) Angelo DiLivio Roberto Ayala Roy Keane Glenn Hoddle Gabriel Batistuta
Were all relegated at one point or another, IIRC. Wouldn't mind too much having any of them here.....

we need wage caps max £15,000 a week. Thats still loads more than 99% of the population, and would mean you had a very good life. But would hopefully reduce ticket prices and make football open to everyone like it used to be.
But then wouldn't NUFC end up with no leading players (apart from those with a particular affinity to the club / city). The few top class players remaining in the Premiership would be motivated by either the thought of living in London; or of playing for the historically famous / successful English teams such as MAnU / Liverpool |

Mate, you're a tit who obviously wants a reaction, Great post You suggest I go and support Chelsea & I'm the one wanting a reaction? Listen, I apologise if I have offended you in some way but surely you expected that kind of response to your initial post. The thing is, I am actually pretty positive about this club in many ways. We've got the best English striker of his generation, a Chairman who, for all his faults, is not shy of spending money to make a big fan-pleasing gesture and a manager far better than his incumbent. I desperately don't want to turn this into a 'soopafan' discussion, but let's just say I've been supporting Newcastle for long enough to realise that things could be better; but they also could be a hell of a lot worse. Believe me, where I live there are enough reasons for genuine negativity and pessimism on a grand scale - and every reason to try to maintain a constant 'positive attitude' in real life. However, the reason I come on here is to read views of people who express a different attitude towards things at NUFC (be it more - or less positive) than my own. I would never be so condescending as to 'offer advice' to those who express a different attitude to mine (even if all they do is post negativity) - because for me that's the whole point of a message board.
Despite what you think I'm trying to understand your posts ; so please help me out by trying to answer this in a single sentence, preferably without the self-indulgent vitriol of your first post: - why does it matter, if people want to post negative / critical / questioning comments on here? |

how frustrating it is to see people who seem determined not to enjoy supporting the club. Wait; so criticism and questioning of the decision-makers at NUFC hinders my ability to enjoy supporting the club? How the **** would you know how my enjoyment of NUFC is realised?
I think what you meant is that it's frustrating to come online and read posts that don't agree with your own view of the club. Well tough shit - it's called debate and you should prepare yourself for it, next time you come out with your 'be positive or go and support Chelsea' bollocks. |

Totally unrelated to your post, but if someone could replace - in your avatar - Fiddy's head with that of Guy Goma, that would be ace. Oh yeah... err... negativity. Boo, hiss. Etc. Sorry, mate - I'm not even nearly computer-techy competent enough to do anything like that. I'm sure someone on here could, though... |

Listen, everyone's entitled to an opinion, but let me offer some advice.

Always a bad idea to feel that you're in such a position of enlightenment to 'offer some advice' on a forum. People take this board WAY too seriously - we're not talking about booing anyone at SJP here - and the whole point about a message board such as this is that allows people to express their inner 'grumpy tw at' in a relatively private environment (despite what some diehards on here may think, the rest of the world could care less about what appears on N-O...). Forums everywhere are a vehicle to express negativity and criticism - just look at the boards for Chelsea, Liverpool , and a thousand other clubs that have nothing at all to complain about. As long as that criticism isn't transferred into a more public arena (such as at the match), then I really can't understand what you're getting your knickers in a twist about.
So what if people want to express negativity re: NUFC on here? By all means counter their arguments with an opposing view, but FFS this is a supposed to be a forum for debate, not an NUFC wankfest (SJP's for that )

Sorry but I don't understand how this;
his candidature is almost certain to be ratified at the FA Premier League’s annual meeting on June 1.
Correlates with this;
John Barnwell, the chief executive of the League Managers Association, claimed yesterday that the vast majority of Premiership managers would be against Roeder’s appointment.
And the whole 99% against business as reported on 5 live.
I wish some bugger could tell me definitively, whether or not they're likely to ratify Roeder's appointment as manager.... |
