Wouldnt take any of them other than Lucas Neill, even then hes quick to go to ground which means hes always going to be a liability. Would represent a big improvement over Carr though.
Bentley is a decent player, but dont think hes good enough for us. If it were a toss up between him and Milner, im not sure who I would choose, and therefore hes not someone that would add to our side. Because were so thin up front right at this point in time, its easy to think hed be a usefull addition up front, but were going to require a top striker or two to come in as we already have adeqaute backup for that position (Shola, Luque assuming hes staying, Dyer if hes ever fit, Emre as an alternative, Milner as last ditch) - adding Bentley to that backup or squad would be pointless, its top class first teamers we need.
NZogbia shits all over Pedersen, who is decent but by no means a quality player, no contest there for me. Again, in terms of a second striker, its the same as with Bentley - might be a decent addition right now given our lack of options, but not for the long term first team, and since its first teamers that we require and not more squad or backup forwards, hes not something we need or should be looking at.
Friedel as you pointed out isnt required and is way too old anyway. |

Also, I'd like to see Walcott given a go, and another striker on top of Henry, Reyes, RvP, and Adebayor, will make it even harder for him. Theres also Tomas Rosicky, who I think its fair to assume was purchased to play directly behind Henry in the 4-4-1-1 that Wenger switched to various times last season, and a system that it seems Henry favours, as showed by the increased performances he put in when Zidane took up the deeper forward role as opposed to his performances when playing alongside Trezeguet. |

Rijkaard saw through him that's good enough for me. Main reason stated for shipping him out to both Monaco and Sevilla was his contract being huge due to the panaronid wage policy employed by the previous Barca chairman. Also, he doesnt fit in too well with the system Rijkaard wants to play, and since he can be lightweight, hes not a good impact player to bring off the bench and he probably wouldnt be happy with that anyway - neither of which indicates hes shiite, just that hes not right for Rijkaard's team. In the same way there was no space for Riquelme in Rijkaard's team - or is he shiite too because Rijkaard didnt want him? |

No Guily (France), that was hand down the most glaring omission
That's because I am playing 442 instead of 433. Actually Giuly didn't do particularly well in Barcelona. He scored a few vital goals but he is not even ar regular starter for Barcelona. Aye, Guily is shiite, he cant even get ahead of that Lionel Amesseobi fella, or that goofy Brazilian who couldnt hit a cows arse with a banjo. |

NUFC Discussion / NUFC Forum / Re: Sven Classics

According to Soccer AM
Southampton FC were 14th in the Coke Cup when Arsehole bought Theo Walnutt.
I know its been said before but, what the hell was Sven thinking? As a guess, Svenn was trying to do what the Brazilians seemingly have done previously, with the likes of Ronaldo, ie take a 17 year old future superstar along purely for the ride, with no intention to play him.
I dont think that was a bad thing to do at all, rather the mistake was made in not taking 5 strikers instead of 4, when 2 of the 4 were unfit, leaving a beanpole masquerading as a footballer and the kid who wasnt going to play. Given the flexibility of some players, he could for example have done without taking so many central midfielders, ie Jenas. |

If it wasn't to happen now, the authorities would become even more of a laughing stock. There'd be outrage amongst everyone bar the fans of these teams.
Are they cast iron guilty though?
Im sure most fans would love to see them go down even if they werent. Like most fans in this country would be delighted with ManU being relegated to League 1. |

I thought it was Distin?
was Elliot for half and Distin for half, Bernard was employed as a left winger, and scored on his debut in that position against Blackburn if memory serves but still, Hughes Dabizas O'Brien Distin/Elliot an absolute joke of a premiership defence Aye, just goes to show that having a fluid, mobile attack with plenty of pace, dribbling, and creativity, relieves the defence of so much pressure. |
