According to de Volkskrant (my Dutch newspaper), PSV are to make a 7.2m Euro bid for Bellamy, who has a clause that lets him join Euro teams.
I thought Bellamy was good when he played for Newcastle, but as you sold him cheaply to Blackburn, that means he is not so good? Is it a good choice for PSV?
absolutely. he'll certainly help them in the CL. I'm a bit sceptical on how he'll adapt though. Good move for him if it happens imo. |

Simple answer.... No Money
No, I dont mean should be spending on big name players, the opposite actually. Look at the signings of Kluivert or Butt for example. Those we're players who were looking for the one last lucrative contract in their careers and we were willing to give it to them. Its the same with Anelka and Nihat. My question is that why we never seem to go less known, up and coming players like many of our rivals do?

Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Lack of imagination

i've been thinking about the players we've been linked with lately, and for some reason i'm not too exited about any of them coming to Newcastle United. Its not so much the quality of those players that bothers me, its the lack of imagination we have in the transfer market.
Its doesnt take a genious to say that Nihat or Anelka are decent footballers, but how come we're constantly linked with these sort of players who are more or less beyond their best years in the game.
Liverpool have just bought Daniel Agger From Bröndby. ManU scouted Nemanja Vidic from Red Star. We're in for the village bicycles like Anelka. When was the last time our scouting system identified a talent? I'm starting to wonder if we even have a scouting system.
Even in this board many people wish we'd get some of our old players/managers back. Why is it so difficult to look for the less obvious, or dont we just bother with it? |

cant ask people to act happy if theyre not can you. this in an internet forum ffs. if it makes you a bad fan to show your frustrations here then where can you do it? i'm sure we all support the team during the game, but why shouldnt we talk our minds here when there's clearly so many things wrong in our club atm? |

Newcastle-Online Forum / NUFC Forum / Re: The position of Souness' hardcore supporters after he goes

The club is the most important thing. If sacking Souness today GUARANTEED that we would win the FA Cup this year then get him out. I happen to think, although I know that I am in a minority on this forum, that he will get it right given the time that we gave Dalglish without half the moans and injury list.
how can anyone guarantee that?? getting us into top ten first would be progress. does souness guarantee us the cup btw? or doesnt the same rules apply to him? |
