Work is ongoing, by people who know what they're doing. Unlike me...

In the spirit of the age, we've outsourced all the actual work, and all we do are the "soft skills". We're part of the "Knowledge Economy". :lol:

Scousers are prepared to put in the effort for more reasonable wages. They have a good work ethic, are available for flexible hours and appreciate the skills that can be attained, along with the future opportunities offered, by jobs many North-Easterners wrongly consider "menial".

As you can see the forum is back, but there still is some work to be done.  So could you please post in here any problems you have.

Apparently, it wasn't actually my fault.

PMs aren't showing, there are none, although it states how many I have. Is everyone's Avatar showing where it says "Welcome" where your private messages links are and that? Or is it meant to be like that anyway, no avatar displayed there as mine isn't.

However, I have some probs with checking my PM's - the "welcome text" says I have some unread messages, but when I go to check my inbox is empty...  ???

On the missing PMs, try this.  Go to your PMs, and create a few labels through the Manage Labels link on the left, then delete the blank ones there if there is any.  All my messages turned up after that.  :-\

Try making some more labels.  I've no idea why it's done this.

Try deleting them all then making them over again.  As pointless as that sounds...

Only if you want the PMs to be fair.  I actually stumbled across it after deleting most of them a while ago any way.  That's why they all turned up when I made my labels.

Correction - that method (nuts though it is) does actually work!  :)

This is what you need to do:

Click search and search on your user name ie I did "ind".

At the top of the page you'll have a list of the messages, click the top check box (check all), go to the drop down label list and choose inbox. Do this for all the pages and bingo there's all your messages back in your inbox.

I used the "Prune Messages" option.

When I say search I mean in the inbox - there's a search option on the left hand side.

Private Messages: 220 Unread, 0 Total.

I should have over 400.

Can you see those 220?

Aye cheers for the offer of Help Pud, much appreciated and I think finally, N.O being down has ridded us of the daft forum wars thing as many started to use TT and found they actually liked it. Hopefully people will continue to use both, I know I will.

I seem to have lost my pm inbox

If you go to the PM search and put in a letter that will most likely appear in all of your PMs like "a", they'll all show up I've found, even the ones deleted like a year ago.

That's the only way I've been able to see my PMs as well. Weird though that it still says 80 messages in total yet I can't see none when I click on my inbox.

aha I've solved it. If you go to manage labels, you should have a label that doesn't have a name. Delete it and all your PMs should appear in the inbox - worked for me.

Fucking with the labels brought mine back. Now though, it says I have two when there are none.

is that not something to do with the time Wullie fucked up everyone's PMs when he sent those PMs out to everyone asking to fill in surveys about the game?  :lol:

Yeah but 200 of the PMs I deleted are now back and it includes those PMs from you.

Old PMs are still borked, but try changing the date order/going to page one to see new ones.

All new forum problems?  Well, you're still posting for a start.

By the way everyone, whilst there is still a problem with old PMs, new ones should be working fine. The only thing to remember is that by default new PMs are sent to the bottom of the list. In your look/layout preferences you can switch this to the top, meaning when you click at the top right (when you have new PMs) you should see them.
