Title: Angola v Portugal Post by: Legacy on June 11, 2006, 07:43:57 PM Should be a good watch, but I can only see one winner though. To be honest I've never seen Angola play so maybe they can surprise me.
Title: Re: Angola v Portugal Post by: Baggio on June 11, 2006, 07:46:03 PM Last time they met in 2001 Angola had 4 players sent off and the game was abandoned, lets hope for more of the same

To be honest I've never seen Angola play so maybe they can surprise me. Will be really interesting game.. But, I saw Angola in January in African Nations Cup and they weren't overly impressing. But this is going to be hard game for Portugal, and Angola will be more passionate than ever. They want to win this game more than anything, just like Senegal wanted to win France in 2002.. Though Senegal actually had really good squad, Angola's squad is not that good. But, there's chance for surprise there, Angola can be better than anyone thinks. Title: Re: Angola v Portugal Post by: Alan Shearer 9 on June 12, 2006, 12:46:05 AM defending is one word for it
Title: Re: Angola v Portugal Post by: Dave on June 12, 2006, 12:57:16 AM We both scored early on and played alright first half, then sat back and didn't attack, handing the impetus to the inferior opposition. Also, both teams took off an influencial player for no real reason.

Title: Re: Angola v Portugal Post by: Alan Shearer 9 on June 12, 2006, 01:20:54 AM yeah when it came to the final ball they were shocking, Santa Cruz had a bit of a shitter, but their attacks against us were more coherent and they got in behind us a few times.
Title: Re: Angola v Portugal Post by: tmonkey on June 12, 2006, 08:20:59 AM Portugal = looked comfortable going forward with good build up play and interlinking. What let them down much of the time was the final ball, players not being on the same wavelength, and a few times making a mess of good attacking chances - especially Simao last night. Theyre a fluid side going forward, Figo through the middle is a quality playmaker and the movement around him is top class from Simao/C.Ronaldo/Pauletta. Where they lack is finishing power, can see them creating the chances or getting in good positions to create chances, but ultimately struggling to turn that attacking threat into goals.
England = looked utter shiite, dont play as a team, struggle for creativity, cant maintain possession, have too many players who arent comfortable on the ball, and players who dont fit into the system/formation being employed.
