Your Shout: Toon Fans' Reaction To 2-0 Spurs Defeat

I was one of those who was calling for the head of Souness at White Hart Lane. Alas, I was definitely in the minority & unless the majority follow my lead than we are stuck with the dour Jock! That said I'm finished with NUFC until he is removed & I'm already looking forward to saturday where I'll be at the Millwall/Everton Cup tie. You never know I might see some decent football! - Mergee
Carefully watch the replays of the Spurs goals and once again watch Boumsong wimp out... he appears to me to be scared of being hit by a ball, all too frequently turning his back. Unacceptable for a central defender. I was at the game we were awful. - Graham Thorpe
I am a Spurs supporter and I'm really disappointed with Newcastle this year. You are a great club and your brilliant supporters deserve much more than they are getting. Having said that I think the way the club treated Bobby Robson was a disgrace. You need to get rid of all the journey men and build a solid team that your fantastic supporters deserve. Anyway, good luck with the rest of the season - hope you turn it round. - Geoff Jeffries
Souness should take his hat, and leave the club. No more excuses. 11th place, it's time. It has been for a long time. Get rid of Souness asap! This is getting ridiculous. How much time should he get Freddy Shepherd? - Kenneth Bassan
You're shit with a shite manager and you should learn that you aint a big club just because you sell loads of tickets. You lose one player to injury and its a black day, please... - Yid
Spurs fan here. Gutted for Owen. Hope he's OK for the World Cup. Good luck boys I like you Geordies, good turn out at the Lane as ever. We've put up with shit for years ourselves and now under MJ we are finally turning the corner. Get rid of Souness and you'll be back again. - Tony S
Our worst fears came true. With Owen out for god knows how long, we are fucked if we don't splash out in January. I want Souness out but at least he has shown an eye for a player or two. Fingers crossed we sign a goalscorer or it will be a very very long season. - Paul
How much longer do we have to put up with this clown?? I was at the match and the Toon end was somber to say the least at the final whistle. Once again we fail to turn up and the idiots at the back, Boobayaro, Doomsong and Bambi, what were they thinking? We are a complete joke from back to front and Freddy needs to act. Another non event against the Smoggies and he should go!! With no Owen where are the goals going to come from?? This is a nightmare. - Mark Johnson
How long do we have to put up with this inept buffoon of a manager. He is as predicted dragging this club down. Sack him now, I don't care if we have no-one lined up lets get rid of him. The man is a joke. - Dave B
You guys need to get rid of Shearer, he's responsible for the sackings of Gullit and Robson because he got mad at being dropped by them and he does his best to undermine any competition for his spot (e.g. Bellamy and Kluivert) plus of course he's a dirty player who elbows opponents at every opportunity. - Yiddo
Defeated again! No lame excuses, time to make a REAL exit, Souness must retire. Players like Bramble, Babayaro, Boumsong, Bowyer, Faye should go. Chairman Freddy please bring in a better manager and quality players. Bring back those happy days to us, we are very disappointed with the present situation Newcastle United is facing. - Jeff
We need a new manager who can teach them how to pass. Says it all really. - Alex D
Without Owen for 10 weeks now we really need to buy in a new striker. We can't rely on Shearer and we all know Ameobi isn't a reliable goalscorer. Luque and Dyer are both able to play up there with Big Al but Luque has failed to impress so far (he may need time who knows) and Dyer, we don't know when he will be back (all the best Kieron). Parker and Given have been constant performers for United this season and I think they deserve much credit. Sven has to include Scotty Parker. Howay the Lads! - Liam Hutcheson
I sat about 20 yards from that waste of space Luque yesterday. Geezer didn't attempt to win a ball, looked cold without any intention of warming himself up. To be fair I don't mind your lot, but you're shocking, if yesterdays performance is a picture of your season as a whole then the chant of 'Souness' out, should happen sooner rather than later! Maybe 'Shearer out' is another option, despite his previous record. Look at Hoddle and Ardiles at our place. - Nath
I'm sick of seeing my team I've supported for years again and again on the losing side. Poor defending and this must be corrected. Mind I think Bramble and some defenders should go and be replaced by more capable defenders. Mind I think the Chairman should also consider a change of this team management, look for and replace a more capable manager like those top table managers, and who can really bring Newcastle United to the top table too. We've already lost 2 matches to Liverpool and Tottenham and how many more matches are we going going to win, draw or lose now? There were 7 lost, 4 draws and only 8 wins and this is clearly seen and understood. I'm saying it's time a new change in management was made sooner rather than later. Or still if no changes in management, then please bring in more good, stronger and powerful defenders, midfielders and strikers. And no arranging them to play in different positions where they are not supposed to be. That's my say and point of view. - Willy
Okay so we have won once without Owen this season, against 6 points Sunderland, only just. Now I'm not being fickle, we can lose games but with some heart and passion, 2 games, 0 chances. Awful. We had almost a full team when you think about it, the only improvements would have been Emre and maybe Carr. Now we haven't had a chance against a team who were tired from playing a few days before, lost 2-0 to WBA, and didn't have arguably their best player in King. Middlesborough, a win and everything is all fine and dandy, NO. We always scrape a win to allow that prat to stay. I have lost faith in NUFC. Come on Toon fans, protest. - Nick Barrett
Oh dear, lets face it the Toon were hopeless. - Nick
Souness has to go, simple ass. - Lenny
I am a Tottenham fan and I think the Newcastle have been playing appallingly under Souness. They need to sack him and become the side they were 2 to 3 years ago when they were in the Champions League. - Dean Woolley
I am a Spurs supporter and it hurts me to see such a great team like Newcastle, with one of the biggest fan bases around the world in such dire straits. Newcastle were simply awful and with the loss of Owen and most of their decent first teamers out, I wonder if Newcastle's luck is going to change. I feel sorry for Newcastle because Tottenham have had this plight of injury with players for years and seem to be finally coping with it where as Newcastle are just experiencing it. I believe Freddy Shepherd should concentrate on bringing in a bigger youth squad as back up for the first teamers instead of wasting millions on foreign players who cant hack it in the Premiership. Man of the Match - Robbie Keane - constant threat in front of goal and unlucky to get some goals disallowed. Match won - as soon as the ref blew his whistle at kick off, you cant expect Newcastle to beat Spurs with Shola Ameobi playing left midfield! - Dannyido
You guys will not want to hear this but I have supported Spurs for over 30 years and that was the worst Newcastle side I think I've ever seen at WHL, especially considering the amount of talent in your team. With Souness as manager I would have thought Newcastle would never lie down but that's precisely what you did and Spurs didn't even play that well but were still too big a match for you. Better luck next time Geordies. - Paul
