Your Shout: Toon Fans' Reaction To 2-2
Boro Draw
|
This is getting boring. Suicide defending week in week out. When will
Souness ever buy REALLY good centerbacks? - Jun
We were very poor and so were Middlesbrough, this had a typical end
of season feeling to it. Only N'Zogbia and Clarkie shined in this
match and it's just a shame that the lad Clark went and spoilt it
all with his late equaliser. Never mind, mansfield could always do
us a favour... - Michael
We haven't got a clue, with Souness in charge, we will finish around
14th, that is totally unacceptable, he is costing the club millions
in lost revenue, and the football is the worst I have seen in 30 years
of going, thousands will not renew at this rate. Fred you need to
act now, we need action now, not more money thrown at an inept manager,
we need to get rid of him, we can still make Europe under a better
manager, for christ sake the lass in charge of the hamburgers on Northumberland
street is a better manager than this utter joke. - Dave B
(Monkseaton)
Again, our main problem are tactics and team play. I don't know why,
does Souness watch us play? It's awful. We lack creativity, passing,
teamwork, and tactics full stop. only 1 thing we can do is long ball
from our "world-class" defender Bramble (you saw the reaction
from Liverpool fans when Brumble replaced Taylor) and lose the ball
from Big Alan's fouls. I still believe our players can do so much
better than have shown, but not under Souness. - Ginkoh
I reckon we just defended poorly and didn't take our chances. Boumsong
and Bramble were once again awful and were to blame for the 2 goals.
The smoggies set up to hit us on the counter and it worked. Lee Clark
was magnificent and rounded off a great performance with a deserved
goal. Souness decided to hand Luque a start, and I thought Luque done
OK apart from the fact he had no right foot or a head. He didn't seem
to want to be playing for Newcastle United though. - Liam
NUFC For Life!
Only one word could describe Newcastle's performance and that is pathetic,
however I was disappointed with some fans' chants towards Albert Luque
because I thought that he had a decent game and he played better than
Shearer and he didn't get the hassle of the fans. I also believe that
Boumsong is the worst defender of all time and it would be an insult
to the chuckle brothers to call Bramble and Boumsong the chuckle brothers.
I still think that the Blackburn game is the killer for Souness, and
if he doesn't get the right result, i.e a win, he will be collecting
his dole money come the Monday following that game. - Jonny
I was pleased to see Luque get a game and he did OK, not enough, but
OK in the circumstances. I wasn't best pleased with the abuse he was
getting from some morons in front and behind me but that's what it's
like these days, no-one has any patience anymore. In part I can understand
because he cost a lot of money and when we aren't doing so well like
we are, people will always look for a scapegoat and Luque seems to
be that player. I thought defensively we were poor and we could of
kept the ball better in midfield but we did OK in parts and Lee Clark
had a super game in the middle. Nice to see him score a goal. A fair
result and something to build on. - Steve
We were awful, get Souness out. - Chris
I cant pick a MOTM. Luque seems to be recapturing match fitness but
he missed chances which lost us the game. Ameobi left wing? What about
Zoggy? Play Carr so that Ramage can go back to left-back which is
becoming a problem position. - Immsy
Boumsong, Bramble, Luque, Carr, Solano, Ameobi, Faye, Souness, Saunders,
the medical staff, Terry Mack, please all go! Peter Beardsley for
manager, a Geordie genius who simply couldn't do any worse. Sorry
I forgot Dyer who has played a handful of decent games... I can't
remember when he destroyed Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea or any other
top team, but he can run fast. Average though like the rest of the
hyped up shite at our club. Our position in the league is the truth.
Sir Bobby must be a good manager to have taken them so far, Shepherd
deserves this, sacking wor Bobby for a sweaty sock who has done nothing
as a manager. Blackburn must of laughed when Freddy gave them compensation
for him, and never forget that money is the fans' money. -
Toon Fan
We were poor. A late (deflected) equaliser from Clark saved Souness
from more pressure. Teams like Boro were teams we expected to beat
a couple of seasons ago. - Ed
What an awful display by Souness. My god I can't understand why he
keep using Ameobi on the left wing, when we have both N'Zogbia and
Luque. Zoggy showed again what a gem he is on the left. Even though
Babayaro hasn't reached his level from the good days at Chelsea, he's
still world-class compared the poor Robbie Elliott. Does he think
he will please the ever growing hate mob against by playing a Geordie?
And what about Bramble, has anyone ever witnessed a more error prone
player than him, even David James or Grobbelaar were giving away less
chances in their Liverpool days. If Freddy Shepherd wants to keep
the stars of this squad, he will have to end Souness' reign on Tyneside.
And show the Toon army, that he has ambitions, buy signing a manager
like Hitzfeld, Le Guen, Hiddink or someone else in that category.
I truly believe we would be better off with a loss against 'Boro,
because then the pressure on FFS would be so enormous he couldn't
avoid sacking the biggest mistake for ages at SJP. SOUNESS OUT ASAP!!!
- Thomas Jensen
Newcastle worst disaster for the 2 seasons under Souness. No progressing
at all and players bought, so easily injured. Please we want to see
professional football. - Mad Pies
"Smoggy" here, thought it was a good game but in truth both
teams are poor and that's because of the two idiots in charge. At
least SM will leave us having won something though... - Boro
Joe
Once again Greame Souness hangs on by a thread. It shows how far we
have come in the last 16 months when we rely on Lee Clark to save
us a point. Lee Clark plays with his heart, but isn't the kind of
player we should have been looking to bring in. Souness' final nail
in the coffin was the team selection and gutless display against Liverpool.
Shay Given was the difference between defeat and an absolute stuffing.
Souness took a winning team to Anfield who had beat West Ham and Arsenal
the previous two games. He made 5 changes to that team. Did he go
there looking for a win? No he didn't. He went to Anfield looking
for damage limitation.
The subsequent games against Tottenham and Middlesbrough were typical
of Souness' style that we have come accustomed to. Boring football,
with players playing out of position. Why did Souness bring Solano
back to play more inside? Ramage runs the wing more often than Nobby
and Ramage cant cross a ball to save his life, by his own admission!
Should we accept mid table mediocrity? Why do we deserve much else?
You only have to look at the likes of Wigan and Bolton to see that
Newcastle are seriously under performing and its all down to two men.
Freddy Shepherd and the person he employed, Graeme Souness (and the
cronies that he brought with him). - Adam Gradewell
Count yourself (Newcastle United) lucky to survive with a draw. What
football they were playing, passing high low and back. Those defenders
who often make mistakes were really sleeping, should leave the club.
Count yourself lucky Souness it was a draw but still it's time you
should quit and give your job to someone who can turn Newcastle 's
team even better. - Boro Fan
I've watched plenty of football this season. I've come to the the
conclusion that Newcastle play the worst football in the league. No
consistency, no flow and little cohesion. Time for change.
- Mick
Another shit performance!!! We need a clear-out, sell the entire defence,
and get rid of that idiot manager. - Will
I had more fun in the Falklands than at St. James' yesterday! Disgraceful!
- Simon Weston
What a load of shite, Lee Clark, what a game he had. Ran his arse
off. - Ginger Patta
An old jungle word says that good teams have good luck, and bad teams
have bad luck. I have really not seen any luck at all at Newcastle
after we appointed Graeme Souness, except maybe Clark's equalizer
or Barry's blunder. You can truly say that our injury record this
season hasn't exactly been good, and is a main excuse used by the
manager, but what about thinking? Graeme; some players are not made
to run their arse off, they want to play technically, beautiful football.
One of Mark Hughes's first comments on the Blackburn squad he took
control of, was that they were the worst trained he'd ever seen. Does
that make sense to anyone?
Mr Sounes has an ideology of hard working, long running players, and
he's not even getting that right!! We are suffering stupid injuries
all the time and the whole club is under a regime that is better suited
for a kinder garden, not a Premier League team! I say that much of
the "bad luck" we are suffering is due to a total lack of skill from
the management and in particular, training levels. Graeme thinks he
is Alex Ferguson during his better days, but that simply is not the
fact! Fat Fred must wake up, let's appoint Shearer for the reminder
of the season, then get in a world-class name to take control in the
summer!! (No offence, Al, but we need that one magic man that which
can get our tactical level up to the very best in Europe).
- Haavard
Once again the 3 B's have caused us another loss of all 3 points.
Bramble, Boumsong and Babayaro are not premiership defenders, they'd
even struggle in the third division. Why does Souness still rate them
after every game they concede us goals? They are easily the worst
defenders in the Premiership and I pity Shay having them in front
of him. I'd rather see a couple of local lads given the chance to
play instead, there would be more passion and commitment! Sell the
3 B's, Faye and Ameobi too and buy someone that has a brain and some
footballing talent. Souness already has the hangman's noose tightly
round his neck and by playing people out of position constantly and
the uninspired performance of the team time has almost run out for
him. Why doesn't he give any post match comments anymore and what
the hell do all his assistants do, McDermott, Saunders, Murray all
drain the club's money, unless they're his bodyguards? - Dan
Our display was terrible. There is no movement up front at all; we
have no width on either flank and this results in a congested centre
of the pitch, where we lack the passing skills of Arsenal, for example,
to cut our way through. The result? Our defence have no-one to pass
to and are rapidly pressurized by the opposition. Our back four do
not need this kind of pressure, and we all saw the results. Until
the clown who doesn't "believe in tactics" is gone, we are scuppered.
I've just done my predict-a-score for the rest of the season and I
have us getting 41 points. And to think that FF sacked SBR for "results".
If it wasn't so hurtful, I'd laugh. - John
Man of the match was Lee Clark not only for his goal but for his commitment,
although he isn't a great passer of the ball, he is always showing
that he bleeds black & white. Good to see some glimpses of Luque (but
he is still a winger). We didn't win the game because of our enormous
ability to mess things up, making strange decisions (especially in
defence) and why is Ameobi starting game after game at left midfield
(we do have Zoggy there who can provide the goods) if Luque (a left
winger in my opinion) is playing forward). We don't have any tactics
just long balls hoping for the best, use the flanks more, Solano,
Zoggy. If you line up a midfield with Faye and Clark you can't expect
them to deliver some smooth passes forward! - Johan
Thanks to everyone who wrote in, keep them coming. |
