Your Shout: Toon Fans' Reaction To 1-0
Blackburn Loss
|
Souness is one lucky bastard, I bet he can't keep a straight face
the next time he uses lady luck as an excuse, he must have something
on FS because I was certain he was a goner. Now that it looks like
he's staying (WHY?????), FS should stipulate in his contract, that
if he mentions injuries or luck once more as an excuse, he resigns.
- Paul
Well, I stayed up all night, and still no sacking, the opposite -
he's staying! I think I'll go and top myself now... - Martin
I can understand people and Graeme himself pointing out that he has
half a squad and none of his signings available but what matters is
results. I don't think he was ever the right man for Newcastle United
even in a perfect situation for getting results. I'm worried as I
can't see the situation changing. Regardless of the £50 million he
has spent, the Toon needs a manager of men and who leads with passion.
Chris Coleman has managed similar results of a fraction of the budget,
expects a great deal from his team and is up for every match.
- Alex Watts
The scenes on Sky show Freddy we are seriously unhappy and he must
change things or things will really get nasty. The mood of fans has
changed and we are no longer prepared to accept this shambles. I don't
care what others think of me, I was there chanting and showing my
discontent. I wouldn't do it inside SJP because I believe we have
to get behind the team during the match, but outside we got ourselves
on Sky and Freddy can't hide from those faces, those voices. Act before
it's too late! - Sean Marshall
What ever this greedy twat wants give him it, he is absolutely destroying
our club. The man must have no dignity at all. - Dave B
For the first time in a long time people in the Gallowgate end are
beginning to snap at each other due to the another piss-poor performance!
- Martin Robinson
I see he's still here, like teflon that man, nowt sticks. How much
longer must we put up with this joker as one fan put it so eloquently
to a Sky reporter? - Marcus D
I was one of those that protested, along with my brother, our uncle
and a few pals, I didn't see any "charvs" - we are all over
20, I saw just supporters sick to their back teeth of Souness, Freddie,
Shearer, the lot of them. Where were you? There was more than a "few
hundred" too, walking down the steps, coming out of the stands,
underneath the Milburn and around the ground, many were chanting.
Yeah there were a few kids but they did themselves and the fans proud,
unlike those that are only too happy to let this happen. Mugs. -
Stevie
Well how long must we endure this incompetent manager and school yard
tactics is it time to call on all Newcastle supporters to start protesting
against the board? I know it's all got to do with economics wanting
to save 5 million in compensation, to me that's a short term problem,
what will the financial situation be if we are relegated - even worse,
which is the likely scenario at the moment. I think the only reason
he is still there apart from the money is he still has Alan Shearer's
backing and my question is why? Is it because Souness is a yes man
to Shearer? Where as other managers have never been, that's why they
never survived that long. Has it come time for Shearer to go also?
Just some food for thought. - Garth Hope
Souness has to go! The back end of a pantomime horse would do a better
job of coaching the players than Souness and his mates. I have never
seen a Newcastle side throw the towel in as they did after Blackburn
scored. If Souness stays we will be relegated on this form. -
Graham Clayton
I was at the game and to be honest I've seen worse performances this
season. But we just continue to look clueless and lacking direction.
I have no idea what the coaches are doing, I understand we have injuries,
but other teams with worse players than we had playing manage to form
a stubborn, hard to beat unit and work on set pieces to nick a goal.
We were inept and clueless, no shape or idea, at one point in the
1st half we gave the ball away 4 times on the bounce trying to lump
it to Shearer. Souness gave no direction to his players and sat in
the dugout doing nothing. I think he has done a good job removing
disruptive influences and think he has made some good signings. The
team just lacks any sort of coaching, direction or tactical idea,
all of which comes from the manager. I think he's a limited manager
and has done all he can. He must go. - Steve Mills
After yesterdays game it is now even more obvious that behind the
supportive comments and general bullshit that comes out of Fat Fred
and the players' mouths is a team and boardroom that have totally
lost confidence and belief in the current manager. This kind of lack
of belief can only be rivaled by the end of Gullit's reign as manager
of the Toon. As I'm sure you are all aware there was thousands of
people outside the ground and walking through our city all singing
the same song literally"SOUNESS OUT". He has to go and has to go now,
in my opinion we have to do one of two things, either 1) sack Souness
and appoint Glen Roeder until the end of the season at which point
we can evaluate the situations and see who is available to replace
him. OR 2) like many fans were singing yesterday, offer the job to
good old Kevin Keegan and see if the messiah will return! Either way
if it was up to me or 50,000 thousand other people I shared a dismal
couple of hours with yesterday, SOUNESS MUST GO NOW! Please Freddy
make it the first thing you do on Monday morning! - Pete
I don't think I can sleep tonight in anticipation of Souness getting
the sack. Please let there be a god... - Martin
I believe Souness has had his day, but beg the board to not rush into
getting a new manager and most of all NOT Sam Allardyce, has anyone
ever watched them play??? I literally fall asleep, it's negative...
that is not what Newcastle need. We should wait until the end of the
season and use the next few months to find the right man for the job.
PS Give Luque a chance, he looked a quality player for the first 10
minutes until the crowd started having a go and his head dropped,
lets get behind him and lets give him a chance. Peter Crouch was pants
after his move to Liverpool but the Scousers gave him a chance and
now he looks the business. - Jay Foggin
The match was poor but the protests were a laugh, well done to each
and everyone who made their presence felt and heard, now lets hope
Freddy listens. - Toon Tony
Get off Luque's back, why are the crowd so impatient with players
coming back from an injury? - Clare Watson
Thanks to everyone who wrote in, keep them coming. |
