We all have axes to grind at the moment in one way or another were our beloved club is concerned but if ever there was a time to down weapons and call a truce then now is that time. The unwashed are coming to Toon and we need to unite and get behind our heroes like never before. To fight as one and not each other.

Looking for a scalp and to scavenge on our scraps like the malnourished tramps that they are, the Mackems are relishing their short trip to enemy territory.

They sense a free meal and they have confidence in their piss-poor but honest, hard working bunch of no-hopers. Believing they can inflict further pain on a wounded and stricken Magpie faithful.

And if we aren't one in our support we will be making their jobs so much easier. No fan or opposition player, never mind our biggest rivals, should ever feel comfortable at St. James' Park or feel confident of a result.

They should fear us to a man and shite their kegs when the fixture for Newcastle United away appears on the horizon. But it's wor lot, our own players that fear playing at St. James' Park and not the opposition.

Rival fans see the trip as a cracking weekend, a nice stadium, fragile opposition, easy to wind up home fans, a bit jack and danny doon the Bigg Market and back hyem with itchy balls and a sore heed.

But come Sunday we can change all that - if only for one day.

We are quick to criticise, lampoon and piss and moan at wor lot when they lose, under perform or as is often the case these days, misplace a pass or some other innocuous 'crime' against the badge.

We argue that we pay our money, it's our right to have a go if those who wear our badge and play in our shirt aren't doing the job we ask of them.

Fair enough but what about our job as supporters? For a long time we have taken numerous sickies and simply not turned up to work. Or when we have we've not put in an acceptable shift deserving of our great club and once proud name as fans.

We have shamed ourselves just as much as those in Black & White this past year with our own pathetic performances on the stands that equal any served up on the park.

Well there is no excuse on Sunday. The scum will infest our great City, stench the place out with their foi and look to piss on our chips like only they can.

And we can either stand for it or we can stand up to it and be counted. We ask that of the lads each week but they now need us to lean on. They are short of confidence, belief and unsure of themselves. They hear the moans and groans on the stands, the vitriol, they feel it.

We need to make them feel loved, wanted and ten feet tall. We need to lift them, stay with them and back them with a crescendo of noise and unadulterated passion from the first whistle to the last. We need to shake the City walls to their foundations.

Stomp our feet in support not in annoyance regardless of where we are in the game or how well we are doing or not. This is the Tyne-Wear Derby. Two great clubs with great fans going into battle to win a round in the fight of an eternal war.

Smarten up soldier, fall into formation and march on. Be tall, be strong, loud and fucking proud. We are Newcastle United - one love - one faith. Give em' hell lads and lasses.

Now, prepare for battle, D-Day is here!
