League Cup 3rd Rnd Draw: Grimsby Town (a)


Newcastle will go back to Grimsby Town where we clinched promotion to the Premiership back in 1993, having been drawn away to The Mariners in the 3rd round of the League Cup.

Grimsby of course knocked out Spurs in the previous round and this is one of those potential banana skin matches United are all too familiar with.

This will be the 41st time we will have played Grimsby, with the Division Three side having won 16 of those matches to Newcastle's 15.
