Blackburn Match Analysis: Past, Present & FutureBoth Graeme Souness and his opposite number Mark Hughes have celebrated one year in charge of their respective clubs in the last week. In his first full season at the helm at St. James's, Souness has supervised ten victories from the first 39 League matches - Hughes 10 in his first 39. Up until Sunday gone Souness had not seen a victory in seven League matches, and witnessed just one clean sheet in eight. It wasn't such a good night for Jermaine Jenas however, his Tottenham side crashing 1-0 to 3rd Division Grimsby despite a full strength team out. If you read various Spurs forums, it seems they have quickly cottoned on to the former No.7's great ability do to nothing in a game. Meanwhile, over on Wearside a few hardy souls were turned away from Sunderland's match with Cheltenham, the club apparently forgetting to print out extra tickets. They obviously didn't expect such a huge demand for the game, as it is, just under 12,000 turned up. And who said football is getting boring... Well done |
