Newcastle have had 21 managers in total with Graeme Souness the last
man to take the hot-seat. And a hot-seat it has become, with 8 of
the last 8 managers either resigning or getting sacked.
Scotsman Andy Cunningham will go down in the record books as United's
first-ever manager. Cunningham was also the club's first and only
player-manager too.
Right up until 1930 Newcastle were run by a group of people called
'The Directors Committee', these men would buy and sell players and
pick the team, bringing in trainers and coaches to prepare the team
for battle.
United have had 4 Scottish managers, just the two Geordie managers
and one Mackem - Stan Seymour - while just the two foreigners in Ossie
Ardiles and Ruud Gullit.
Joe Harvey was the last man to win a trophy for Newcastle and just
