We Want Answers Freddy Shepherd
"I think the fans will be pleasantly surprised at what
results from the Woodgate deal." - Freddy Shepherd 10 days ago.
Pleasantly surprised? No we are shocked. No Rooney, no Woodgate and
no manager...and Kieron Dire is still a NUFC player just to rub salt
into the wounds.
I've often praised Freddy Shepherd's management of our club and quite
rightly. He's backed all of his managers with cash. We have a fabulous
stadium. Our finances appear to be in order. We have a world-class
training complex and prior to this Season we were a well run club.
Not any more. We are a shambles on and off the pitch and Freddy Shepherd
has played a massive hand in this. All his good work has been undone
in moments of madness that has left the good ship NUFC without a sail.
A catalogue of mistakes and bad management are out in the open and
there for all to see. We want answers and solutions to this fine mess
that you have put us in Freddy. You can't hide from this. You have
no defence.
- Why did you not have the balls to sack Bobby prior to this Season
instead of on the eve of the final day of the transfer window?
- Why did you sell Jonathan Woodgate without a suitable replacement
lined up?
- Why did you not sign a suitable replacement despite having the
money AND time in which to do so?
- Why is Kieron Dire still registered as a Newcastle United player
when we the supporters, who pay his AND your wages don't want
him to ever again wear the shirt that he disgraced?
- Why did you chase Wayne Rooney only to give up at the last minute?
- Will the Woodgate money go on team strengthening when the transfer
window reopens?
- Will the 'Rooney money' go on team strengthening?
We want answers Freddy. Not lies but the truth. We want to know why
you have undermined our club and why YOU ARE NOT DOING THE JOB WE
PAY YOU TO DO - which isn't selling our best defender and not replacing
him, allowing a prick who doesn't deserve the wages we pay him to
spit at our loyalty and sacking a manager on the eve of the final
day of the transfer window.
The vast majority of Toon supporters have lost complete faith in your
ability to run this club in the best interests of everyone and you
are on thin ground. Your hypocrisy, lies and untruths are now out
in the open. We want answers and action.
Over to you Freddy...
McClaren & Bruce Say No - Phew!
Toon supporters can sleep easily tonight. Middlesbrough's
Steve McClaren and Birmingham boss Steve Bruce have both said no to
any overtures regarding the Newcastle hot seat - thankfully.
McClaren said: "Naturally I'm
flattered that my name has been linked with such a job, but I'm very
happy at Middlesbrough and am not interested in leaving the club.
"We are building something exciting at Middlesbrough and I'm
committed to seeing that through. "Steve Gibson (Boro
Chairman) has always given me his full support and has invested in
several top-class signings once again this summer. "We
believe we can really build on our League Cup success and we have
Europe to look forward to." Steve Bruce
said: "As far as I'm concerned, I've got
a job to do here and I'm determined to get on with.
“Yes, I'm a Geordie and Newcastle's where my roots are and everyone
knows what the club means to me, but nothing's changed. I'm committed
to Birmingham." Meanwhile the Guardian
newspaper among other sources claim Bolton's Sam Allardyce
is at the top of Freddy Shepherd's wanted list while the Mirror newspaper
reports that former Toon boss Kevin Keegan is being
lined up for a sensational return to Tyneside to work alongside Alan
Shearer who took training yesterday apparently...
Butt Out
Nicky Butt, currently on international duty, will miss England's
World Cup Qualifier in Austria on Saturday having pulled his hamstring
and is a major doubt for the trip to Poland next Wednesday. Butt of
course has missed a fair few games for England with niggling injuries
- lets hope he plays a fair few games for Newcastle. We need him.
As Expected...
From the BBC:
Manchester United have completed the signing of Wayne Rooney from
Everton in a deal which could be worth £27m. United will pay Everton
a guaranteed £20m, with that sum rising by as much as £7m, according
to the 18-year-old striker's appearances and achievements. Rooney
has signed a six-year contract which will tie him to Old Trafford
until 30 June 2010. |
