Toon Consider N'Zogbia Options
From the Sunday Sun:
Newcastle are yet to decide whether to pay a compensation fee
to Le Havre for Charles N'Zogbia or let the teenager return to France,
after losing a court battle to sign him for free.
The Court for Arbitration in Sport has reversed a FIFA ruling that
N'Zogbia should be allowed to join the Magpies for nothing.
United have no recourse to an appeal but do have the option of simply
handing the 18-year-old back to Le Havre.
The French Second Division club have always insisted that N'Zogbia
was tied to them until 2006 on an education contract, but Newcastle
insisted he was legally a free agent because he had signed no professional
deal.
Le Havre will now demand up to £500,000 for N'Zogbia, who can operate
on the left side of defence or midfield and is rated as one of his
country's most exciting talents. But United are likely to attempt
to agree a deal, given that first-choice leftback Olivier Bernard
could quit St James's Park next summer.
"We have not yet received official written confirmation of the Court
for Arbitration's decision, so can make no comment at this time,"
said a Newcastle spokesman.

arrogance, poor attitude and no end product has blighted his 'career'
to date. Lots of different newspapers today are suggesting that Newcastle
want him fully fit for his eventual sale in January. Lets hop so...
