Everton: Champions League? You're Having A Laugh!
Newcastle's inability to convert clear-cut chances into goals, lack
of discipline and self inflicted wounds at the back brought another
defeat on the road and with it thankful pats on the back from Everton
who are now almost guaranteed that last Champions League spot. Should
Liverpool fail to beat Arsenal at Highbury this afternoon the Toffemen
will be England's 4th representation in Europe's premier competition
next season.
If they pass the minefield of the qualification round that is. They
only need to look at wor lot to see how easily one can balls that
up.
And what does that say about the Premiership and more significantly
our very own club? It says it all in my opinion. All credit to David
Moyes and Everton for their fantastic and well deserved season but
how this shower of journeymen have risen from the clutches of near
relegation last season to 4th says more about the state of our game
and indeed our own club than the actual talent of the Goodison side
and the ability of Moyes as a manager.
Newcastle and the rest of the League ought to be ashamed. Everton
with a poor to average squad, arguably the thinnest in the League
and with a game plan that should come with a parental warning sign
have shown up the League and United for what they are - distinctly
poor. The top three aside, the self proclaimed best League in the
world is a shower of sh!te.
And so are we.
Good luck in Europe Everton, you'll need it.
Ending on a slightly positive note, there is hope for all of us.
Kluivert On His Way?
From the BBC: Dutch international striker Patrick
Kluivert has confirmed he will leave Newcastle at the end of the season.
The Magpies have an option to sign the 28-year-old for a further two
years, but he is set to leave after a disappointing year at St James'
Park.
Kluivert is wanted by a host of Spanish clubs including Valencia,
Seville and Real Betis, but has ruled out a move to Turkish side Fenerbahce.
He told the News of the World: "I am going back to Spain and not Turkey."
Kluivert arrived at Newcastle on a free transfer from Barcelona last
summer.
He has started only 14 Premiership games for the Magpies, with 10
appearances from the bench, and scored six league goals.
