NUFC InterToto Cup Role Call


With the deadline for entry to the InterToto Cup only five days away, the entrants for this year's competition are starting to come in. Barring another English entrant , Newcastle United will enter in the third round where we would play a team from Hungary, Slovakia or Turkey.

The 23 entrants so far (with thanks to Bert Kassias for the information) are:

The Toon (ENG), FK Karvan Evlakh (AZER), Akranes (ICE), Hamburg (GER), Dortmund (GER), Wolfsburg (GER), Olympiakos Nicosia (CYP), Bangor City (WAL), Bohemians (IRE), Distillery (NIR), AA Gent, Charleroi and Lokeren (all BEL), Dinaburg (LAT), Valletta (MAL), Tampere and International Turku (both FIN), Gothenburg (SWE), FC Rangers (AND), Ararat Yerevan (ARM) and JC Roda (NED)

There are 38 teams still to enter, and these are the dates for the competiiton that will be relevant to us:

16th or 17th July - 3rd Round 1st Leg (away)
23rd July- 3rd Round 2nd Leg (home)

27th August - Semi-Final first leg
3rd September - Semi-Final second leg

09th September- Final first leg
23rd September- Final second leg

On Monday 6th June, all the mystery surrounding the entrants will be gone, so check out Newcastle-Online.com on that date for all the details.
